Exodus 24

CHAPTER 24
1 He said to Drawn (Moses), “Come up to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), you, Light Bringer (Aaron), Generous (Nadab), and He Is My Father (Abihu), and seventy of the elders of God Prevails (Israel); and worship afar off.
2 Drawn (Moses) alone will come near I AM (the LORD, Yehovah): but they will not come near; neither will the people go up with him.”
3 Then Drawn (Moses) came and told the people all the words of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice saying, “All the words which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) has said will we do.”
4 Drawn (Moses) wrote down all the words of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), and rose up early in the morning. He built an altar under the hill and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of God Prevails (Israel).
5 He sent young men of the children of God Prevails (Israel), to offer burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah).
6 Drawn (Moses) took half of the blood, and put it in basins; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
7 Then he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, “All that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) has said will we do, and be obedient.”
8 So Drawn (Moses) took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant, which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) has made with you concerning all these words.”
9 Then Drawn (Moses), Light Bringer (Aaron), Generous (Nadab), He Is My Father (Abihu) and seventy of the elders of God Prevails (Israel) went up:
10 And they saw the God of God Prevails (Israel). Under His feet was a paved work of a sapphire stone, like the substance of heaven in clearness.
11 Upon the nobles of the children of God Prevails (Israel) He laid not his hand. They also saw God, and did eat and drink.
12 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), “Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give you tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that you may teach them.”
13 Drawn (Moses) rose up with his minister I AM is Salvation (Joshua). Then Drawn (Moses) went up into the mount of God.
14 He said to the elders, “Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Light Bringer (Aaron) and Cavern (Hur) are with you. If any man have any matters to do, let him come to them.”
15 Then Drawn (Moses) went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.
16 And the glory of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) stayed on Mount Thorny (Sinai), and the cloud covered it six days. On the seventh day he called to Drawn (Moses) out of the midst of the cloud.
17 The sight of the glory of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of God Prevails (Israel).
18 Drawn (Moses) went into the midst of the cloud, and went up into the mount: and Drawn (Moses) was in the mount forty days and forty nights.

Exodus 23

1 You will not raise a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
2 You will not follow a multitude to do evil; neither will you alter your witness in a trial to follow the crowd and pervert justice.
3 Neither will you favor a poor man in a trial just because he is poor.
4 If you meet your enemy's ox or his ass going astray, you will surely bring it back to him again.
5 If you see the ass of him that hates you lying under his burden, and are reluctant to help him, you will surely help with him.
6 You will not deny justice for your poor in court.
7 Keep far from a false matter. Do not slay the innocent and righteous: for I will not justify the wicked.
8 Do not take bribes, for the gift blinds the wise, and perverts the words of the righteous.
9 Do not oppress a stranger: for you know the heart of a stranger, seeing you were strangers in the land of Double Straights (Egypt).
10 Six years you will sow your land, and will gather in the fruits thereof:
11 But the seventh year you will let it rest and lie still; that the poor of your people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field will eat. In like manner you will deal with your vineyard, and with your olive yard.
12 Six days you will do your work, and on the seventh day you will rest: that your ox and your ass may rest, and the son of your handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
13 In all things that I have said to you be circumspect. Make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of your mouth.
14 Three times you will keep a feast to me in the year.
15 You will keep the feast of unleavened bread. You will eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, in the time appointed of the month Green Ears (Abib); for in it you came out from Double Straights (Egypt). No one is to appear before me empty.
16 The feast of harvest, the firstfruits of your labors, which you have sown in the field: and the feast of in-gathering, which is in the end of the year, when you have gathered in your labors out of the field.
17 Three times in the year all your males will appear before I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) GOD.
18 You will not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither will the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.
19 The first of the first fruits of your land you will bring into the house of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God. You will not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
20 I send an Angel before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.
21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for My Name is in him.
22 But if you will obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries.
23 For My Angel will go before you, and bring you in to the The Talkers, Sayers (Amorite), and the Terrors (Hittite), and the Village Dwellers (Perizzite), and the Humbled Ones (Canaanites), the Villagers (Gibeonites were Hivites), and the Trodden Underfoot (Jebusite - original inhabitants of Jerusalem): and I will cut them off.
24 You will not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but you will utterly overthrow them, and totally break down their images.
25 You will serve I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God; and I will bless your bread and your water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
26 Nothing will cast their young, nor be barren, in your land and I will fulfill the number of your days.
27 I will send my fear before you, and will destroy all the people to whom you will come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.
28 I will send hornets before you, which will drive out the Hivite, the Humbled Ones (Canaanites), and the Terror (Hittite), from before you.
29 I will not drive them out from before you in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against you.
30 By little and little I will drive them out from before you, until you be increased, and inherit the land.
31 I will set your boundaries from the Red sea to the sea of the Immigrants (Philistines), and from the desert to the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and you will drive them out before you.
32 You will make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.
33 They will not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me: for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.

Exodus 22

1 If a man will steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he will restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
2 If a thief be found breaking in, and be struck that he die, there will no blood be shed for him.
3 If the sun is up, there will be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution. If he has nothing, then he will be sold for his theft.
4 If the theft is found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he will restore double.
5 If a man allows a field or vineyard to be eaten by his his beast feeding in another man's field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, he will make restitution.
6 If fire breaks out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field is consumed, he that kindled the fire will make restitution.
7 If a man will delivers to his neighbor money or stuff to keep, and it is stolen out of the man's house; if the thief is found, let him pay double.
8 If the thief is not found, then the master of the house will be brought to the judges, to see whether he has put his hand to his neighbor's goods.
9 For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challenges to be his, the cause of both parties will come before the judges; and whom the judges will condemn, he will pay double to his neighbor.
10 If a man delivers to his neighbor an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, no man seeing it:
11 Then an oath of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) will be between them both, that he has not put his hand to his neighbor's goods; and the owner of it will accept thereof, and he will not make it good.
12 If it is stolen from him, he will make restitution to the owner.
13 If it is torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, He will not make good that which was torn.
14 If a man borrow anything of his neighbor, and it is hurt, or dies, the owner thereof not being with it, he will surely make it good.
15 But if the owner thereof is with it, he will not make it good. If it is an hired thing, it came for his hire.
16 If a man entices a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he will surely endow her to be his wife.
17 If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he will pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
18 You will not permit a witch to live.
19 Whosoever lies with a beast will surely be put to death.
20 He that sacrifices to any god, save to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) only, will be utterly destroyed.
21 You will neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for you were strangers in the land of Double Straights (Egypt).
22 You will not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
23 If you afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry;
24 And my wrath will be hot. I will kill you with the sword; and your wives will be widows, and your children fatherless.
25 If you lend money to any of my people that are poor near you, you will not be to him as a banker, neither will you charge him interest.
26 If you take your neighbor's raiment a pledge, you will deliver it to him by the time that the sun goes down.
27 For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein will he sleep? and it will come to pass, when he cries to me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
28 You will not revile the judges, nor curse the ruler of your people.
29 You will not delay to offer the first of your ripe fruits, and of your liquors: the firstborn of your sons will you give to me.
30 Likewise will you do with your oxen, and with your sheep: seven days it will be with his dam; on the eighth day you will give it me.
31 You will be holy men to me: neither will you eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; you will cast it to the dogs.

Exodus 21

1 Now these are the judgments which you will set before them.
2 If you buy an One From Beyond (Hebrew) servant, he will serve six years: and in the seventh he will go out free for nothing.
3 If he came in by himself, he will go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife will go out with him.
4 If his master has given him a wife, and she has born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children will be her master's, and he will go out by himself.
5 If the servant will plainly say, “I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free.”
6 Then his master will bring him to the judges. He will bring him to the door, or to the door post and his master will bore his ear through with an aul. Then he will serve him for ever.
7 If a man sells his daughter to be a maidservant, she will not go out as the menservants do.
8 If she does not please her master, who has betrothed her to himself, then will he let her be redeemed. He will have no power to sell her to a strange nation, seeing he has dealt deceitfully with her.
9 If he has betrothed her to his son, he will deal with her after the manner of daughters.
10 If he takes to him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, he will not diminish.
11 And if he does not do these three for her, then will she go out free without money.
12 He that strikes a man, so that he die, he will be surely put to death.
13 But if a man did not lie in wait, but God delivered him into his hand; then I will appoint you a place where he can flee.
14 But if a man comes presumptuously on his neighbor, to slay him with guile; you will take him from My altar, that he may die.
15 He that strikes his father, or his mother, will be surely put to death.
16 He that steals a man, and sells him, or if he be found in his hand, he will surely be put to death.
17 He that curses his father, or his mother, will surely be put to death.
18 If men strive together, and one hits another with a stone, or with his fist, and he doesn't die, but keeps his bed:
19 If he rises again, and walk abroad on his staff, then he that hit him will be acquitted. He will only pay for the loss of his time, and will cause him to be thoroughly healed.
20 If a man hits his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he will be surely punished.
21 Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he will not be punished: for he is his money.
22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit departs from her, and yet no mischief follow: he will be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he will pay as the judges determine.
23 And if anything else happens, then you will give life for life,
24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
26 If a man hits the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he will let him go free for his eye's sake.
27 And if he knocks out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he will let him go free for his tooth's sake.
28 If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox will be surely stoned, and his flesh will not be eaten; but the owner of the ox will be acquitted.
29 But if the ox were known to push with his horn in time past, and it has been testified to his owner, and he has not kept him in, but that he has killed a man or a woman; the ox will be stoned, and his owner also will be put to death.
30 If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he will give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
31 Whether he has gored a son, or gored a daughter, according to this judgment will it be done to him.
32 If the ox will push a manservant or a maidservant; he will give to their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox will be stoned.
33 If a man will open a pit, or if a man will dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
34 The owner of the pit will make it good, and give money to the owner of them; and the dead beast will be his.
35 If one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they will sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they will divide.
36 It was known that the ox has pushed in time past, and his owner has not kept him in; he will surely pay ox for ox; and the dead will be his own.

Exodus 20

1 God ('Elohiym) spoke all these words, saying,
2 “I am I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym), which have brought you out of the land of Double Straights (Egypt), out of the house of bondage.
3 You will have no other gods ('elohiym) before me.
4 You will not make to you any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 You will not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them: for I, I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) God ('Elohiym) am a jealous god ('el), visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And showing mercy to thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 You will not take the name of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) God ('Elohiym) in vain; for I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) will not hold him guiltless that takes His name in vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days will you labor, and do all your work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) God ('Elohiym): in it you will not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates:
11 For in six days I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: therefore I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) God ('Elohiym) gives you.
13 You will not murder.
14 You will not commit adultery.
15 You will not steal.
16 You will not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 You will not covet your neighbor's house, you will not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is your neighbor's.”
18 Then all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they backed up, and stood afar off.
19 And they said to Drawn (Moses), “You speak with us, and we will hear: but let not God ('Elohiym) speak with us, lest we die.”
20 Drawn (Moses) exhorted the people, “Fear not: for God ('Elohiym) comes to prove you, and that His reverence may be before your faces, that you sin not.”
21 So the people stood afar off, and Drawn (Moses) drew near to the thick darkness where God ('Elohiym) was.
22 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), “Thus you will say to the children of God Prevails (Israel), you have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
23 you will not make gods ('elohiym) of silver, neither will you make gods ('elohiym) of gold.
24 An altar of earth you will make to Me, and will sacrifice thereon your burnt offerings, and your peace offerings, your sheep, and your oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come to you, and I will bless you.
25 And if you will make Me an altar of stone, you will not build it of hewn stone: for if you lift up your tool upon it, you have polluted it.
26 Neither will you go up by steps to mine altar, that your nakedness be not discovered thereon.”

Exodus 19

1 In the third month, when the children of God Prevails (Israel) had left the land of Double Straights (Egypt), they came into the Wilderness of Thorns (Wilderness of Sinai).
2 They departed from Spreading Support ( Rephidim), and came to the desert of Thorny (Sinai), and had pitched in the wilderness. There God Prevails (Israel) camped before the mount.
3 Drawn (Moses) went up to God, and I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) called to him out of the mountain, saying, “Thus will you say to the house of Heel-Grabber (Jacob), and tell the children of God Prevails (Israel);
4 You have seen what I did to the Double Straighters (Egyptians) How I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you to Myself.
5 Now therefore, if you will obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you will be a peculiar treasure to Me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
6 And you will be to Me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which you will speak to the children of God Prevails (Israel).”
7 So, Drawn (Moses) came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) commanded him.
8 And all the people answered together saying, “All that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) has spoken we will do.” Then Drawn (Moses) returned the words of the people to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah).
9 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), “Look, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever.” And Drawn (Moses) told the words of the people to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah).
10 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), “Go to the people, and sanctify them to day and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes,
11 And be ready for the third day. On the third day I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) will come down in the sight of all the people on mount Thorny (Sinai).
12 Set boundaries for the people round about, saying, “Take heed to yourselves, don't go up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever touches the mount will be surely put to death:
13 There will not an hand touch it, but he will surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it will not live: when the trumpet sounds long, they will come up to the mount.”
14 Then Drawn (Moses) went down from the mount to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
15 He said to the people, “Be ready for the third day: come not at your wives.”
16 On the third day in the morning, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet was exceedingly loud; so that all the people in the camp trembled.
17 Drawn (Moses) brought the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
18 Then Mount Thorny (Sinai) began to smoke, because I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) descended upon it in fire. The smoke ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
19 When the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and became louder and louder, Drawn (Moses) spoke, and God answered him by a voice.
20 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) came down on Mount Thorny (Sinai), on the top of the mount. I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) called Drawn (Moses) up to the top of the mount, so Drawn (Moses) went up.
21 I AM (the LORD,Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), “Go down, warn the people, lest they break through to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) to gaze, and many of them perish.
22 And let the chief rulers also, which come near to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), sanctify themselves, lest I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) break forth upon them.”
23 Drawn (Moses) said to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), “The people cannot come up to Mount Thorny (Sinai): for You charged us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it.”
24 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) answered him, “Away, get you down, and you will come up, you, and Light Bringer (Aaron) with you: but let not chief rulers and the people break through to come up to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), lest he break forth upon them.”
25 So Drawn (Moses) went down to the people, and spoke to them.

Exodus 18

1 When His Abundance (Jethro), the priest of Strife (Midian), Drawn's (Moses) father in law, heard of all that God ('Elohiym) had done for Drawn (Moses), and for God Prevails (Israel) his people, and that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) had brought God Prevails (Israel) out of Double Straights (Egypt);
2 Then His Abundance (Jethro), Drawn's (Moses) father in law, took A Little Bird (Zipporah), Drawn's (Moses) wife, after he had sent her back,
3 And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Exile (Gershom). For he said, “I have been an alien in a strange land.”
4 And the name of the other was God is Help (Eliezer). “For the God ('Elohiym) of my father”, he said, “was my help, and delivered me from the sword of the Great House (Pharaoh).”
5 His Abundance (Jethro), Drawn's (Moses) father in law, came with his sons and his wife to Drawn (Moses) into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God ('Elohiym):
6 He sent a message to Drawn (Moses), “I, your father in law His Abundance (Jethro), have come to you, and your wife, and her two sons with her.”
7 So Drawn (Moses) went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him. They asked each other of their welfare. Then they went into the tent.
8 Drawn (Moses) told his father in law all that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) had done to the Great House (Pharaoh) and to the Double Straighters (Egyptians) for God Prevails (Israel)'s sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) delivered them.
9 And His Abundance (Jethro) rejoiced for all the goodness which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) had done for God Prevails (Israel), whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Double Straighters (Egyptians).
10 His Abundance (Jethro) said, “Blessed be I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), who has delivered you out of the hand of the Double Straighters (Egyptians), and out of the hand of the Great House (Pharaoh), who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Double Straighters (Egyptians).
11 Now I know that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly He was above them.”
12 Then His Abundance (Jethro), Drawn's (Moses) father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God ('Elohiym): and Light Bringer (Aaron) came, and all the elders of God Prevails (Israel), to eat bread with Drawn's (Moses) father in law before God ('Elohiym).
13 The next day, Drawn (Moses) sat to judge the people: and the people waited for Drawn (Moses) from the morning to the evening.
14 And when Drawn's (Moses) father in law saw all that he did for the people, he said, “What is all this that you do for the people? Why do you sit all alone, and all the people come to you from morning to evening?”
15 Drawn (Moses) answered his father in law, “Because the people come to me to inquire of God.
16 When they have a matter, they come to me; and I judge between one and another, and I make them know the statutes of God, and His laws.”
17 And Drawn's(Moses) father in law said to him, “The thing that you do is not good.
18 You will surely wear away, both you, and the people that are with you: for this thing is too heavy for you; you are not able to perform it yourself alone.”
19 Listen to my voice, I will give you counsel, and God ('Elohiym) will be with you. Intercede for the people before God ('Elohiym), that you may bring the causes to God ('Elohiym):
20 Teach them ordinances and laws, and show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.
21 Moreover pick out of all the people able men, such as fear God ('Elohiym), men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
22 And let them judge the people in all seasons: and it will be, that every great matter they will bring to you, but every small matter they will judge: so will it be easier for thyself, and they will bear the burden with you.
23 If you will do this thing, and God ('Elohiym) commands you so, then you will be able to endure, and all these people will also go to their place in peace.”
24 So Drawn (Moses) listened to the voice of his father in law, and did all that he had said.
25 And Drawn (Moses) chose able men out of all God Prevails (Israel), and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
26 And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard cases they brought to Drawn (Moses), but every small matter they judged themselves.
27 Then Drawn (Moses) let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land.

Exodus 17

1 All the congregation of the children of God Prevails (Israel) set out from the Wilderness of Thorns (Wilderness of Sin), breaking camp according to the commandment of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah). They then pitched in Spreading Support ( Rephidim) but there was no water for the people to drink.
2 Therefore the people strove with Drawn (Moses), and said, “Give us water that we may drink.” But Drawn (Moses) said to them, “Why complain to me? Why do you tempt I AM (the LORD, Yehovah)?”
3 And the people thirsted there for water and they murmured against Drawn (Moses) saying, “Why is it that you have brought us up out of Double Straights (Egypt), to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?”
4 So Drawn (Moses) cried to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) saying, “What do I do wth this people? They are almost ready to stone me.”
5 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) answered Drawn (Moses), “Go on before the people. Take with you of the elders of God Prevails (Israel) and your rod, with which you struck the river, take in your hand, and go.
6 I will stand before you there upon the rock in Desert (Horeb). You will hit the rock and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” So Drawn (Moses) did so in the sight of the elders of God Prevails (Israel).
7 He called the name of the place Temptation (Massah), and Place of Strife (Meribah), because of the chiding of the children of God Prevails (Israel), and because they tempted I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), saying, “Is I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) among us, or not?”
8 Then Licker (Amalek) came and fought with God Prevails (Israel) in Spreading Support ( Rephidim).
9 Drawn (Moses) said to I AM is Salvation (Joshua), “Choose men for us to go fight with Licker (Amalek). Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God ('Elohiym) in mine hand.
10 So I AM is Salvation (Joshua) did as Drawn (Moses) had said to him, and fought with Licker (Amalek): and Drawn (Moses), Light Bringer (Aaron), and Cavern (Hur) went up to the top of the hill.
11 When Drawn (Moses) held up his hand, God Prevails (Israel) prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Licker (Amalek) prevailed.
12 But Drawn's (Moses) hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat there; and Light Bringer (Aaron) and Cavern (Hur) stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side so his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
13 And I AM is Salvation (Joshua) discomfited Licker (Amalek) and his people with the edge of the sword.
14 Then I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), “Wris for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of I AM is Salvation (Joshua): for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Licker (Amalek) from under heaven.”
15 So Drawn (Moses) built an altar, and called the name of it I AM is My Banner (Jehovahnissi – Yehovah Nissi):
16 For he said, “Because I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) has sworn that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) will have war with Licker (Amalek) from generation to generation.”

Exodus 16

1 They took their journey from Palms (Elim), and all the congregation of the children of God Prevails (Israel) came to the Wilderness of Thorns (Wilderness of Sin), which is between Palms (Elim) and Thorny (Sinai), on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Double Straights (Egypt).
2 Then the whole congregation of the children of God Prevails (Israel) murmured against Drawn (Moses) and Light Bringer (Aaron) in the wilderness.
3 And the children of God Prevails (Israel) said to them, “Would to God we had died by the hand of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) in the land of Double Straights (Egypt), when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us out into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”
4 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), “I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people will go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or not.
5 On the sixth day they will prepare that which they bring in; and it will be twice as much as they gather daily.”
6 So Drawn (Moses) and Light Bringer (Aaron) said to all the children of God Prevails (Israel), “At evening, you will know that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) has brought you out from the land of Double Straights (Egypt).
7 And in the morning, you will see the glory of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah). He hears your murmurings against I AM (the LORD, Yehovah): and what are we, that you murmur against us?”
8 Drawn (Moses) continued”, This will be. I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) will give you flesh to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to the full. I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) hears your murmurings which you murmur against Him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against I AM (the LORD, Yehovah).”
9 Then Drawn (Moses) spoke to Light Bringer (Aaron), “Say to all the congregation of the children of God Prevails (Israel), Come near before I AM (the LORD, Yehovah): for He has heard your murmurings.”
10 Then, as Light Bringer (Aaron) spoke to the whole congregation of the children of God Prevails (Israel), they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) appeared in the cloud.
11 And I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) spoke to Drawn (Moses), saying,
12 “I have heard the murmurings of the children of God Prevails (Israel): speak to them, saying, “At evening you will eat flesh, and in the morning you will be filled with bread; and you will know that I am I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God.”
13 At evening the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.
14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, all over the ground of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the white frost on the ground.
15 When the children of God Prevails (Israel) saw it, they said one to another, “What is it? (manna)”: for they did not know what it was. Drawn (Moses) said to them, “This is the bread which I AM (the LORD,Yehovah) has given you to eat.”
16 This is the thing which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) has commanded, “Let every man gather a supply, an omer for every man, according to the number of your people household, take this for each person.”
17 And the children of God Prevails (Israel) did so, and gathered, some more, some less.
18 And when they measured it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man for his food.
19 And Drawn (Moses) said, “Let no one leave of it till the morning.”
20 But they didn't listen to Drawn (Moses) and some of them left of it until morning. It bred worms, and stank and Drawn (Moses) was angry with them.
21 So they gathered it every morning, every man according to his needs: and when the sun became hot, it melted.
22 On the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Drawn (Moses).
23 He said to them, “This is what I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said. Tomorrow is the rest of the holy sabbath to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah): bake that which you will bake, and boil what you will boil; and that which remains over lay up to be kept until the morning.”
24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Drawn (Moses) directed: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.
25 And Drawn (Moses) said, “Eat that today; for today is a sabbath to I AM (the LORD, Yehovah). Today you will not find it in the field.
26 Six days you will gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there will be none.”
27 Yet some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather, and they found none.
28 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said through Drawn (Moses), “How long will you refuse to keep my commandments and my laws?
29 See, I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) has given you the sabbath, therefore He gives you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide you every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.”
30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
31 And the house of God Prevails (Israel) called the name thereof What? (Manna). It was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
32 Then Drawn (Moses) said, “This is what I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) commands, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread which I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Double Straights (Egypt).”
33 Then Drawn (Moses) said to Light Bringer (Aaron), “Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), to be kept for your generations.”
34 As I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) commanded Drawn (Moses), so Light Bringer (Aaron) laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
35 And the children of God Prevails (Israel) ate What? (manna) forty years, until they came to a land inhabited. They ate What? (manna), until they came to the borders of the land of Humbled One (Canaan).
36 Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.

* An omer is about 2 liters
