Exodus 2

There was a man of the house of Joined To (Levi), who took a wife who was also a of the tribe of Joined To (Levi).
The woman conceived, and bore a son: and when she saw how precious he was, she hid him for three months.
And when she could no longer hide him, she made an ark of bulrushes for him, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child in it; and she laid it in the reeds by the river's brink.
His sister stood afar off, to see what would be done to him.
The daughter of the Great House (Pharaoh) came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to fetch it.
When she had opened it, she saw the child: and the baby started crying. She had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the One From Beyonds (Hebrews)' children.”
Then his sister said to the Great House's (Pharaoh) daughter, “Shall I go and call a nurse of the One From Beyond (Hebrew) women to you, that she may nurse the child for you?”
The Great House's (Pharaoh) daughter said to her, “Go.” And the maid went and called the child's mother.
The Great House's (Pharaoh) daughter said to her, “Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will pay you.” So, the woman took the child, and nursed it.
The child grew, and she brought him to the Great House's (Pharaoh) daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Drawn (Moses). She explained, “Because I drew him out of the water.”
When Drawn (Moses) was grown, he went out to his brethren, and looked on their burdens. He came across an Double Straighter (Egyptian) beating a One From Beyond (Hebrew), one of his brethren.
He looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one around, he slew the Double Straighter (Egyptian), and hid him in the sand.
Then when he went out the second day, Two men of the One From Beyonds (Hebrews) were fighting: and he said to him that did the wrong, “Why did you beat your fellow countryman?”
He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Are you going to kill me, as you killed the Double Straighter (Egyptian)?” And Drawn (Moses) feared, and said, “Surely this thing is known.”
Now when the Great House (Pharaoh) heard this thing, he sought to slay Drawn (Moses). But Drawn (Moses) fled from the face of the Great House (Pharaoh), to dwell in the land of Strife (Midian). There he sat down by a well.
Now the priest of Strife (Midian) had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.
But the shepherds came and drove them away. So Drawn (Moses) stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.
And when they came to Friend of God ('Elohiym) (Reuel) their father, he said, “How is it that you are back so soon today?”
They answered, “A Double Straighter (Egyptian) delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.”
He said to his daughters, “And where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat with us.”
And Drawn (Moses) was content to dwell with the man. Then he gave Drawn (Moses) A Little Bird (Zipporah) his daughter.22 She bore him a son, and he called his name Exile (Gershom): for he said, “I have been a stranger in a strange land.”
It came to pass in process of time, that the king of Double Straights (Egypt) died: and the children of God ('Elohiym) Prevails (Israel) sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up to God ('Elohiym) by reason of the bondage.
And God ('Elohiym) heard their groaning, and God ('Elohiym) remembered his covenant with Father of a Multitude (Abraham), with Laughter (Isaac), and with Heel-Grabber (Jacob).
And God ('Elohiym) looked upon the children of God ('Elohiym) Prevails (Israel), and God ('Elohiym) honored their cry.
