1
I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), “See, I have made
you a god to the Great House (Pharaoh): and Light Bringer (Aaron)
your brother shall be your prophet.
2
You will speak all that I command you: and Light Bringer (Aaron) your
brother shall speak to the Great House (Pharaoh), so that he sends
the children of God Prevails (Israel) out of his land.
3
The Great House's (Pharaoh) heart will be hardened, and I will
multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Double Straights
(Egypt).
4
But the Great House (Pharaoh) shall not listen to you, that I may lay
My hand upon Double Straights (Egypt), and bring forth My host, My
people, the children of God Prevails (Israel) , out of the land of
Double Straights (Egypt) by great judgments.
5
The Double Straighters (Egyptians) shall know that I am I AM (the
LORD, Yehovah), when I stretch forth My hand upon Double Straights
(Egypt), and bring out the children of God Prevails (Israel) from
among them.”
6
Drawn (Moses) and Light Bringer (Aaron) did as I AM (the LORD,
Yehovah) commanded them.
7
Drawn (Moses) was eighty years old, and Light Bringer (Aaron)
eighty-three years old, when they spoke to the Great House
(Pharaoh).
8
Then, I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) spoke to Drawn (Moses) and to Light
Bringer (Aaron), saying,
9
“When the Great House (Pharaoh) shall speak to you, saying, 'Show
a miracle for proof' then you will say to Light Bringer (Aaron),
'Take your rod, and cast it before the Great House (Pharaoh)', and it
shall become a serpent.”
10
So, Drawn (Moses) and Light Bringer (Aaron) went in to the Great
House (Pharaoh), and they did as I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) had
commanded: Light Bringer (Aaron) cast down his rod before the Great
House (Pharaoh), and before his servants, and it became a serpent.
11
Then the Great House (Pharaoh) also called the wise men and the
sorcerers. Now the magicians of Double Straights (Egypt) also did in
like manner with their enchantments.
12
They cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Light
Bringer (Aaron)'s rod swallowed up their rods.
13
But the Great House (Pharaoh)'s heart was hardened. He did not listen
to them; as I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) had said.
14
I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), “The Great House's
(Pharaoh) heart is hardened, he refuses to let the people go.
15
Go to the Great House (Pharaoh) in the morning when he goes out to
the water. You will stand by the river's brink to meet him; and the
rod which was turned to a serpent will you take in your hand.
16
You will say to him, 'I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) God of the One From
Beyonds (Hebrews) has sent me to you, saying, Let My people go, that
they may serve Me in the wilderness. Look, before you would not hear.
17
Thus says I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), In this you will know that I am I
AM (the LORD, Yehovah): Watch, I will strike with the rod that is in
my hand on the waters which are in the river, and they shall be
turned to blood.
18
And the fish in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and
the Double Straighters (Egyptians) shall not be able to drink of the
water of the river.'”
19
Furthermore, I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) spoke to Drawn (Moses), “Say
to Light Bringer (Aaron), 'Take your rod, and stretch out your hand
out over the waters of Double Straights (Egypt), on their streams, on
their rivers, and on their ponds, and on all their pools of water,
that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout
all the land of Double Straights (Egypt), both in vessels of wood,
and in vessels of stone.'”
20
And Drawn (Moses) and Light Bringer (Aaron) did as I AM (the LORD,
Yehovah) commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters
that were in the river, in the sight of the Great House (Pharaoh),
and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the
river were turned to blood.
21
The fish that were in the river died; and the river stank, and the
Double Straighters (Egyptians) could not drink of the water of the
river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Double
Straights (Egypt).
22
Then, the magicians of Double Straights (Egypt) did the same with
their enchantments. The Great House's (Pharaoh) heart was hardened,
and he did not listen to them; as I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) had said.
23
Then the Great House (Pharaoh) turned and went into his house, and he
did not take this to heart either.
24
All the Double Straighters (Egyptians) dug round about the river for
water to drink. They could not drink of the water of the river
25
For
seven full days after I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) struck the river.
