Numbers 12

Numbers 12

Rebellion (Miriam) and Light Bringer (Aaron) spoke against Drawn (Moses) because of the Black (Ethiopian) woman whom he had married: for he had married a Black (Ethiopian) woman.

They said: Has I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) indeed spoken only by Drawn (Moses)? has he not spoken also by us? And I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) heard it.

(Now the man, Drawn (Moses), was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) spoke suddenly to Drawn (Moses), and to Light Bringer (Aaron), and to Rebellion (Miriam), Come out you three to the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.

I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Light Bringer (Aaron) and Rebellion (Miriam): and they both came forth.

And he said: Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I, I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), will make Myself known to him in a vision, and will speak to him in a dream.

My servant Drawn (Moses) is not so, who is faithful in all My house.

With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) he shall behold: why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Drawn (Moses)?

The anger of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) was kindled against them; and he departed.

The cloud departed from off the tabernacle. Then, Rebellion (Miriam) became leprous, white as snow: Light Bringer (Aaron) examined Rebellion (Miriam) and she indeed it was leprosy.

Then Light Bringer (Aaron) said to Drawn (Moses), Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.

Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb.

So Drawn (Moses) cried to the Existing One (Lord), saying: Heal her now, O God, I beseech You.

Then I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.

So Rebellion (Miriam) was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people did not journey till Rebellion (Miriam) was brought in again.

Afterward, the people removed from Settlement (Hazeroth), and pitched in the wilderness of the Place of the Caverns (Paran).
