Light-Giving (Luke) 15

 15 

¹Then all the tax collectors and sinners drew near to hear Him.

² But The Separates (Pharisees) and scribes murmured, saying, “This man receives sinners, and eats with them.”

³ So He spoke this parable to them, saying,

^4 “What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he finds it?

⁵ When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

⁶ And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost!’

⁷ I say to you, that likewise joy will be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, who need no repentance.

⁸ Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she loses one piece, does not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she finds it?

⁹ And when she has found it, she calls her friends and her neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost!’

¹⁰ Likewise, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

¹¹ Then He said, “A certain man had two sons:

¹² And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided his possessions between them.

¹³ Not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

¹⁴ And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

¹⁵ So he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country who sent him into his fields to feed swine.

¹⁶ He longed to fill his belly with the husks that the swine ate: but no one would give to him.

¹⁷ When he came to himself, he said, ‘How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!’

¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before you,

¹⁹ I am no longer worthy of being called your son: make me one of your hired servants.’

²⁰ So he arose and went to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and hugged, and kissed him.

²¹ And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight. I am no more worthy to be called your son.’

²² But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

²³ And get the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

²⁴ For this, my son, was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.

²⁵ Now his elder son was in the field, and as he came near the house, he heard music and dancing.

²⁶ So he called one of the servants, and asked what was going on.

²⁷ And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come; and your father has killed the fatted calf, because he has received him safe and sound.’

²⁸ And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore, his father came out, and entreated him.

²⁹ He answered, saying to his father, “Look, these many years I have served you, and done everything you’ve asked, and yet you never gave me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

³⁰ But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your money with harlots, you have killed the fatted calf for him!’

³¹ And he said to him, ‘Son, you are ever with me, and all that I have is yours.

³² It was right that we should make merry, and be glad: for your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost and is found.’”

Light-Giving (Luke) 14

¹And it came to pass, as He went into the house of one of the chief Separates (Pharisees) to eat bread on the Sabbath day, that they watched Him.

² And, behold, a certain man was there before him who had the dropsy.

³ I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) answering their accusing thoughts spoke to the lawyers and The Separates (Pharisees), saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?”

⁴ But they held their peace. So, He took him, healed him, and let him go.

⁵ Then He spoke again, “Which of you will have an ass or an ox fall into a pit, and will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?”

⁶ But they could not debate Him about these things.

⁷ Then he told a parable to those who were invited, when he observed how they chose out the chief seats, saying to them.

^8 “When you are invited to a wedding, do not sit down in the highest seat; lest a more honorable man than you has been invited.

⁹ And he that invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this man place’; and you shamefully have to take the lowest seat.

¹⁰ But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest seat; that when he that invited you comes, he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher’: then you will have honor in the presence of them that sit at the meal with you.

¹¹ For whosoever exalts himself will be brought low; and he that humbles himself will be exalted.”

¹² Then He also said to him who invited Him, “When you make a dinner or a supper, do not call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your kinsmen, nor your rich neighbors; lest they invite you, and pay you back.

¹³ But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind.

¹⁴ You will be blessed; for they cannot pay you back: for you will be rewarded at the resurrection of the just.”

¹⁵ When one of them who sat eating with Him heard these things, he said to Him, “Blessed is he that will eat bread in the Kingdom of God.”

¹⁶ Then said He to him, “A certain man made a great supper, and invited many:

¹⁷ And sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come; for all things are now ready.’

¹⁸ And they all, with one consent, began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’

¹⁹ And another said, ‘I just bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: Please excuse me.’

²⁰ And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’

²¹ So that servant came and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.’

²² And the servant said, ‘Lord, I have done as you have commanded, and yet there is room.’

²³ So the lord said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

²⁴ For I say to you, that none of those men who were invited will taste of my supper.”

²⁵ Then great multitudes went with Him: and He turned, and said to them,

^26 “If any man comes to Me, and hates not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

²⁷ And whoever does not bear his cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple.

²⁸ For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first, and count the cost, whether he has sufficient to finish it?

²⁹ Lest haply, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that see it begin to mock him,

³⁰ Saying, ‘This man began to build, and was not able to finish.’

³¹ Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first, and consult whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that comes against him with twenty thousand?

³² If not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a message and desires conditions of peace.

³³ So likewise, any of you that does not forsake all that he has, he cannot be My disciple.

³⁴ Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its savor, what will it season?

³⁵ It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Light-Giving (Luke) 13

 ¹There were present at that season some that told Him of those from Circuit-District (Galilee), whose blood Armed With a Spear (Pilate) had mingled with their sacrifices.

² I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) answered them, “Do you suppose that these from Circuit-District (Galilee) were sinners above all those from Circuit-District (Galilee), because they suffered such things?

³ I tell you, no: but, except you repent, you will all likewise perish.

⁴ Or those eighteen, on whom the tower at the pool of Sent (Siloam) fell, and killed them, do you think that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Rain of Peace (Jerusalem)?

⁵ I tell you, no: but, except you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

⁶ He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon and found none.

⁷ Then he said to the dresser of his vineyard, ‘Look, these three years I’ve come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why have it in the ground?’

⁸ And he answering said to him, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, till I will dig about it, and dung it:

⁹ And if it bears fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou will cut it down.”

¹⁰ He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.

¹¹ And, behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could not lift herself.

¹² When I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) saw her, He called her to Him, and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.”

¹³ And He laid His hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

¹⁴ And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) had healed on the Sabbath day, and said to the people, “There are six days in which men ought to work: therefore in them come and be healed, not on the Sabbath day.”

¹⁵ The Lord then rebuked him, “You hypocrite, does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

¹⁶ And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Father of a Multitude (Abraham), whom Adversary (Satan) has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?”

¹⁷ And when He had said these things, all His adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that He was doing.

¹⁸ Then He said, “To what is the Kingdom of God like? What can I compare it to?

¹⁹ It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew and became a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.”

²⁰ And again He said, “What will I liken the Kingdom of God to?

²¹ It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.”

²² And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Rain of Peace (Jerusalem).

²³ Then He was asked, “Lord, are there few that will be saved?” He answered,

^24 “Strive to enter in at the narrow gate: for many, I say to you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.

²⁵ When once the master of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you are still outside knocking, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us’, He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know who you are:’

²⁶ Then you will say, ‘We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets.’

²⁷ But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know you; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’

²⁸ There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Father of a Multitude (Abraham), and Laughter (Isaac), and Heel-Grabber (Jacob), and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

²⁹ And they will come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and will sit down in the Kingdom of God.

³⁰ And, behold, there are last which will be first, and there are first which will be last.”

³¹ That same day, certain of The Separates (Pharisees) came, saying to Him, “Get out, and depart from here: for Heroic (Herod) will kill you.”

³² But He said to them, “Go, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I will be perfected.

³³ Nevertheless, I must walk today, and tomorrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Rain of Peace (Jerusalem).

³⁴ O Rain of Peace (Jerusalem), Rain of Peace (Jerusalem), you who kill the prophets, and stone them that are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you would not!

³⁵ Behold, your house is left desolate: and Truly I say to you, you will not see Me, until the time comes when you will say, Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord.”

Light-Giving (Luke) 12

 ¹In the meantime, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trampled each other, He began to say to His disciples first, “Beware of the leaven of The Separates (Pharisees), which is hypocrisy.

² For there is nothing covered, that will not be revealed; neither hid, that will not be known.

³ Therefore, whatever you have spoken in darkness will be heard in the light; and that which you have whispered in closets will be proclaimed on the housetops.

⁴ And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

⁵ But I will forewarn you whom you should fear: Fear Him, who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, Fear Him.

⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

⁷ But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows.

⁸ Also, I say to you, whoever will confess Me before men, him will the Son of Man also confess before the angels of God:

⁹ But he that denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.

¹⁰ And whoever will speak a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him: but to him that blasphemes against the Holy Ghost it will not be forgiven.

¹¹ And when they bring you to the synagogues, and to magistrates, and powers, take no thought how or what thing you will answer, or what you will say:

¹² For the Holy Ghost will teach you in that same hour what you ought to say.”

¹³ Then one of the company said to him, “Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.”

¹⁴ Hia response to him was, “Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?”

¹⁵ Then he said to them, “Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

¹⁶ And He told them a parable: “The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

¹⁷ And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What will I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?’

¹⁸ And he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there I will store all my fruits and my goods.

¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have enough goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.’

²⁰ But God said to him, “You fool, this night your soul will be required of you: then whose will those things be, which you have provided for yourself?

²¹ So is he that lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

²² And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I say to you, take no thought for your life, what you will eat; neither for the body, what you will wear.

²³ Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.

²⁴ Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap. They have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them: how much more are you than the fowls?

²⁵ And which of you, with taking thought, can add to his stature one cubit?

²⁶ If you then cannot do this little thing, why worry about the rest?

²⁷ Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say to you, that Peace (Solomon) in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

²⁸ If then God so clothes the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will He clothe you, O ye of little faith?

²⁹ And seek not what you will eat, or what you will drink, nor be of a doubtful mind.

³⁰ For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knows that you need these things.

³¹ But rather, you seek the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you.

³² Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

³³ Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.

³⁴ For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

³⁵ Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning.

³⁶ Be like men that wait for their lord, when he returns from the wedding; so that when he comes and knocks, they may open to him immediately.

³⁷ Blessed are those servants, who when the lord comes, he finds them watching: Truly I say to you, that he will gird himself, and make them sit down to eat, and will go forth and serve them.

³⁸ If he comes in the second watch, or comes in the third watch, and finds them so, blessed are those servants.

³⁹ But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not have permitted his house to be broken into.

⁴⁰ Therefore be ready also: for the Son of Man comes at an hour when you think not.”

⁴¹ Then Stone (Peter) said to Him, “Lord, are you speaking this parable to us, or to all?”

⁴² And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?

⁴³ Blessed is that servant, who when his lord comes, will find him so doing.

⁴⁴ Truthfully, I say to you, that he will make him ruler over all that he has.

⁴⁵ But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My lord delays his coming,’ and will begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunk;

⁴⁶ The lord of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

⁴⁷ The servant, who knew his lord's will, and didn’t prepare himself, and did not do according to his will, will be beaten with many stripes.

⁴⁸ But he who did not know, and committed things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. For to whoever much is given, of him will be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

⁴⁹ I have come to send fire on the earth; and I so wish it was already kindled.

⁵⁰ But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I constrained till it is accomplished!

⁵¹ Do you suppose that I have come to give peace on earth? I tell you, No, but rather division:

⁵² For from here out there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

⁵³ The father will be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

⁵⁴ Then he also said to the people, “When you see a cloud rise out of the west, right away you say, there comes a shower; and so, it is.

⁵⁵ And when you see the south wind blow, ye say, there will be heat; and it comes to pass.

⁵⁶ You hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that you do not discern this time?

⁵⁷ Yes, and why do you not judge what is right?

⁵⁸ When you go with your adversary to the magistrate, as you are on the way, give diligence that you might be delivered from him; lest he hand you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer cast you into prison.

⁵⁹ I tell you, you will not depart from there till you have paid the very last penny.”

Light-Giving (Luke) 11

 ¹It came to pass that as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as I AM is a Gracious Giver (I AM is a Gracious Giver (John)) also taught his disciples.”

² So He said to them, “When you pray, say, Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

³ Give us this day our daily bread.

⁴ Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.”

⁵ Then He said to them, “Which of you will have a friend, and will go to him at midnight, and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves;

⁶ For a friend of mine in his journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?

⁷ And he from within will answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you.

⁸ I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity, he will rise and give him as much as he needs.

⁹ And I say to you, Ask and keep on asking, and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking, and you will find; knock and keep on knocking, and it will be opened to you.

¹⁰ For everyone that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it will be opened.

¹¹ If a son asks for bread of any of you who is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead?

¹² Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

¹³ If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”

¹⁴ He was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb person spoke; and the people wondered.

¹⁵ But some of them said, He casts out devils through Lord of the Flies (Beelzebub), the chief of the devils.

¹⁶ And others, tempting Him, sought a sign from heaven from Him.

¹⁷ But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls.

¹⁸ If Adversary (Satan) is also divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? because you say that I cast out devils through Lord of the Flies (Beelzebub).

¹⁹ And if I, by Lord of the Flies (Beelzebub), cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore, will they be your judges.

²⁰ But if I, with the finger of God, cast out devils, no doubt the Kingdom of God has come on you.

²¹ When a strong man is armed and keeps his palace, his goods are at peace:

²² But when a stronger than he comes on him, and overcomes him, he takes from him all the armor he trusted in and divides his spoils.

²³ He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathers not with me scatters.

²⁴ When an unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, I will return to my house from which I came out.

²⁵ And when he comes, he finds it swept and garnished.

²⁶ Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”

²⁷ And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman of the company cried out, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which You have sucked.”

²⁸ But He said, “No, rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”

²⁹ And when the people were gathered thick together, He began to say, “This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there will no sign be given it, but the sign of Dove (Jonah) the prophet.

³⁰ For as Dove (Jonah) was a sign to the Offspring of Ease (Ninevites), so will also the Son of Man be to this generation.

³¹ The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Peace (Solomon); and behold, a greater than Peace (Solomon) is here.

³² The men of Offspring of Ease (Nineveh) will rise up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Dove (Jonah); and behold, a greater than Dove (Jonah) is here.

³³ No man, when he has lit a candle, puts it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they who come in may see the light.

³⁴ The light of the body is the eye: therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light; but when your eye is evil, your body also is full of darkness. * idioms for generosity and greed

³⁵ Take heed therefore that the light which is in you is not darkness.

³⁶ If your whole body therefore is full of light, having no part dark, the whole will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle gives you light.”

³⁷ As He spoke, a certain man of The Separate (Pharisees) sought Him to dine with Him: so He went in and sat down to eat.

³⁸ When the Separate (Pharisee) saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before dinner.

³⁹ And the Lord said to him, “You Separates (Pharisees) make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

⁴⁰ You fools, did not He that made the outside make the inside also?

⁴¹ But rather give alms of such things as you have; and behold, all things will be clean to you.

⁴² But woe to you, The Separates (Pharisees)! for you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs and pass over judgment and the love of God: these you ought to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

⁴³ Woe to you, Separates (Pharisees)! for you love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

⁴⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Separates (Pharisees), hypocrites! for you are as graves which are hidden, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.”

⁴⁵ Then one of the lawyers said to Him, “Master, it sounds like You are condemning us also.”

⁴⁶ He answered, “Woe to you also, you lawyers! for you laden men with burdens grievous to be borne, and you yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

⁴⁷ Woe to you! For you build the sepulchers of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

⁴⁸ Truly, you bear witness that you approve of the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and you build their sepulchers.

⁴⁹ Therefore also the wisdom of God says, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will slay and persecute:

⁵⁰ That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

⁵¹ From the blood of Abel to the blood of Remembered by I AM (Zacharias) who perished between the altar and the temple: Truly I say to you, it will be required of this generation.

⁵² Woe to you, lawyers! for you have taken away the key to knowledge: you haven’t even entered yourselves, and those that were entering, in you hindered.”

⁵³ As He said these things to them, the scribes and The Separates (Pharisees) began to urge Him vehemently, and to provoke Him to speak of many things:

⁵⁴ Lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch something out of His mouth, that they might accuse Him.

Light-Giving (Luke) 10

 ¹ After these things, the Lord appointed another seventy also and sent them by twos before Him into every city and place He was planning to visit.

² Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest.

³ Go your ways: behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.

⁴ Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man on your way.

⁵ Into whatsoever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house.’

⁶ And if the son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it: if not, it will turn to you again.

⁷ Remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Do not go from house to house.

⁸ Whenever you enter a city, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:

⁹ Heal the sick that are therein, and say to them, ‘The Kingdom of God has come near you.’

¹⁰ But into whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into the streets of the same, and say,

^11 ‘Even the very dust of your city, which cleaves on us, we wipe off against you: notwithstanding, be sure of this, that the Kingdom of God has come near to you.’

¹² I say to you, that it will be more tolerable in that day for Burning (Sodom), than for that city.

¹³ Woe to you, Furnace of Smoke (Chorazin)! Woe to you, House of Fish (Bethsaida)! for if the mighty works had been done in A Rock (Tyre) and Hunter/Fisher (Sidon), which have been done in you, they would have repented a great while ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

¹⁴ But it will be more tolerable for A Rock (Tyre) and Hunter/Fisher (Sidon) at the judgment, than for you.

¹⁵ And you, Village of Comfort (Capernaum), who are exalted to heaven, will be thrust down to hell.

¹⁶ He that hears you hears Me; and he that despises you despises Me; and he that despises Me despises Him who sent Me.”

¹⁷ The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the devils are subject to us through Your name.”

¹⁸ And He said to them, “I beheld Adversary (Satan) as lightning fall from heaven.

¹⁹ Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing will by any means hurt you.

²⁰ Notwithstanding, do not rejoice that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”

²¹ In that hour I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) rejoiced in spirit, and said, “I thank You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in Your sight.

²² All things are delivered to Me by My Father: and no man knows who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal Him.”

²³ And he turned to his disciples, and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see:

²⁴ For I tell you, many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which you see and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them.”

²⁵ And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tested Him, saying, “Master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

²⁶ I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) asked him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”

²⁷ He answered, “You will love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”

²⁸ I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) confirmed him, “You have answered right: this do, and you will live.

²⁹ But he, wanting to justify himself, said to I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua), “And who is my neighbor?”

³⁰ I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) answered, “A certain man went down from Rain of Peace (Jerusalem) to Its Moon (Jericho), and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

³¹ By chance, a certain priest came by that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

³² And likewise a Joined To (Levite), when he was at the place, came and looked at him, and passed by on the other side.

³³ But a certain Watch Mountainian (Samaritan), as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him.

³⁴ He went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

³⁵ And the next day, when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said to him, “Take care of him; and whatever you spend more, when I come again, I will repay you.”

³⁶ Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to him that fell among the thieves?”

³⁷ He answered, “He that shewed mercy on him.” Then I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) said to him, “Go, and do likewise.”

³⁸ Now it came to pass, as they went, that He entered a certain village: and a woman named She Was Rebellious (Martha) received Him into her house.

³⁹ And she had a sister called Rebellion (Mary), who also sat at I AM is Our Salvation's (Yeshua’s) feet, and heard His word.

⁴⁰ But She Was Rebellious (Martha) was cumbered about much serving, and came to Him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me.”

⁴¹ I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) answered her, “She Was Rebellious (Martha), She Was Rebellious (Martha), you are careful and troubled about many things:

⁴² But one thing is needful: Rebellion (Mary) has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
