Light-Giving (Luke) 14

1And it came to pass, as He went into the house of one of the chief Separates (Pharisees) to eat bread on the Sabbath day, that they watched Him.

2 And, behold, a certain man was there before him who had the dropsy.

3 I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) answering their accusing thoughts spoke to the lawyers and The Separates (Pharisees), saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?”

4 But they held their peace. So, He took him, healed him, and let him go.

5 Then He spoke again, “Which of you will have an ass or an ox fall into a pit, and will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?”

6 But they could not debate Him about these things.

7 Then he told a parable to those who were invited, when he observed how they chose out the chief seats, saying to them.

8 “When you are invited to a wedding, do not sit down in the highest seat; lest a more honorable man than you has been invited.

9 And he that invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this man place’; and you shamefully have to take the lowest seat.

10 But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest seat; that when he that invited you comes, he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher’: then you will have honor in the presence of them that sit at the meal with you.

11 For whosoever exalts himself will be brought low; and he that humbles himself will be exalted.”

12 Then He also said to him who invited Him, “When you make a dinner or a supper, do not call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your kinsmen, nor your rich neighbors; lest they invite you, and pay you back.

13 But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind.

14 You will be blessed; for they cannot pay you back: for you will be rewarded at the resurrection of the just.”

15 When one of them who sat eating with Him heard these things, he said to Him, “Blessed is he that will eat bread in the Kingdom of God.”

16 Then said He to him, “A certain man made a great supper, and invited many:

17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come; for all things are now ready.’

18 And they all, with one consent, began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’

19 And another said, ‘I just bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: Please excuse me.’

20 And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’

21 So that servant came and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.’

22 And the servant said, ‘Lord, I have done as you have commanded, and yet there is room.’

23 So the lord said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

24 For I say to you, that none of those men who were invited will taste of my supper.”

25 Then great multitudes went with Him: and He turned, and said to them,

26 “If any man comes to Me, and hates not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

27 And whoever does not bear his cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple.

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first, and count the cost, whether he has sufficient to finish it?

29 Lest haply, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that see it begin to mock him,

30 Saying, ‘This man began to build, and was not able to finish.’

31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first, and consult whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that comes against him with twenty thousand?

32 If not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a message and desires conditions of peace.

33 So likewise, any of you that does not forsake all that he has, he cannot be My disciple.

34 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its savor, what will it season?

35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Battering Ram (Mark) 9

1 He told them, “Truly I say to you, there are some of you that stand here who will not taste death, till they have seen the Kingdom of God come with power.”

2 And after six days, I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) took Stone (Peter), Supplanter (James), and I AM is a Gracious Giver (John) with Him and led them up into a high mountain apart by themselves. There, He was transfigured before them.

3 His robes became shiny, exceeding white as snow; as no laundry on earth can whiten them.

4 My God is I Am (Elijah) and Drawn (Moses) appeared to them: and they were talking with I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua).

5 Stone (Peter) responded by saying to I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua), “Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for You, one for Drawn (Moses), and one for My God is I Am (Elijah).”

6 Because he didn’t know what to say, they were very afraid.

7 Then a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son: hear Him.”

8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they didn’t see anyone, except I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) and themselves.

9 As they came down from the mountain, He instructed them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

10 So they kept saying that to themselves, questioning each other about what the rising from the dead should mean.

11 Then they asked Him, “Why do the scribes say that My God is I Am (Elijah) must first come?”

12 He answered them, “My God is I Am (Elijah) Truly comes first, and restores all things; and it is written of the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things, and be despised.

13 But I say to you, My God is I Am (Elijah) has already come, and they have done to him whatever they desired, as it is written of him.”

14 When He came to His disciples, He saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning them.

15 Right away, all the people, when they saw Him, were greatly amazed, and ran to Him and saluted Him.

16 He asked the scribes, “Why are you questioning them?”

17 One of the multitudes answered, “Master, I have brought to You my son, who has a dumb spirit;

18 Whenever he takes him, he tears him: and he foams, gnashes with his teeth, and pines away. I asked Your disciples to cast him out, and they could not.”

19 He answered him, “O faithless generation, how long will I be with you? How long will I put up with you? Bring him to Me.”

20 They brought him to Him: and when he saw Him, right away the spirit tore him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming at the mouth.

21 He asked his father, “How long has he suffered?” And he said,” Since he was a child.

22 Oftentimes it has cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if You can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.”

23 I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.”

24 The father of the child cried out, with tears, “Lord, I believe; please help my unbelief.”

25 When I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the foul spirit, saying to Him, “You dumb and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and do not enter him again.”

26 The spirit cried, convulsing him, and came out of him. He was as one dead; insomuch that many said, “He is dead.”

27 But I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) took him by the hand, lifted him up; and he arose.

28 When He came into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast him out?”

29 He answered, “This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.”

30 They departed from there and passed through Circuit-District (Galilee); but He didn’t want anyone to know it.

31 He taught His disciples, “The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him; and after He is killed, He will rise the third day.”

32 But they didn’t understand and were afraid to ask Him.

33 When He came to Village of Comfort (Capernaum), He went into the house and He asked them, “What was it that you were arguing about on the way?”

34 But they held their peace: for on the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.

35 So, He sat down, and calling the twelve, He said to them, “If any man desires to be first, the same will be last of all, and servant of all.”

36 Then He took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when He had taken Him in His arms, He said to them,

37 “Whoever will receive a child in My name, receives Me: and whoever will receive me, receives not Me, but Him that sent Me.”

38 Then I AM is a Gracious Giver (John) answered Him, saying, “Master, we saw someone casting out devils in Your name, but he didn’t follow us: and we forbid him, because he doesn’t follow us.

39 But I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) said, “Don’t forbid him: for there is no man who will do a miracle in My name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

40 He that is not against us is for us.

41 Whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, Truly I say to you, he will not lose his reward.

42 Whoever will offend one of these little ones that believe in Me, it is better for him that a millstone was hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off: it is better for you to enter life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never will be quenched:

44 Where the worm never dies, and the fire is not quenched.

45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off: it is better for you to enter crippled into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never will be quenched:

46 Where their worm never dies, and the fire is not quenched.

47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out: it is better for you to enter the Kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

48 Where the worm never dies, and the fire is not quenched.

49 For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be salted with salt.

50 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves and have peace with one another.”
