Light-Giving (Luke) 8

1 Afterward, He went throughout every city and village, preaching and demonstrating the glad tidings of the Kingdom of God: and the twelve were with Him,

There were also certain women, who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Rebellion (Mary) called The Tower (Magdalene), out of whom went seven devils,

Grace of God (Joanna), the wife of The Seer (Chuza), Heroic’s (Herod’s) steward, Lilly (Susanna), and many others, who ministered to Him of their substance.

When many people gathered, coming to Him out of every city, He spoke by a parable:

5 “A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

And some fell on a rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it.

And others fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bore fruit a hundredfold.” When He had said these things, He cried, “He that has ears to hear, let him hear.”

His disciples asked Him, “What does this parable mean?”

10 He answered, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see and hearing they might not understand.

11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

12 Those by the wayside are those that hear; then comes the devil, and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

13 Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but they have no root. For a while, they believe, but in the time of temptation, they fall away.

14 And those which fell among thorns are they, who when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

15 But those that fall on the good ground are they who, in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

16 No man, when he has lit a candle, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed; but sets it on a candlestick, that they who enter in may see the light.

17 For there is nothing secret that will not be made manifest; neither anything hid, that will not be known and come abroad.

18 Take heed therefore how you hear: for whoever has, to him will be given; and whoever has not, from him will be taken even that which he seems to have.”

19 Then His mother and His brothers came but could not get to Him for the press.

20 A certain person told Him, “Your mother and Your brothers stand without, desiring to see You.

21 He answered, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”

22 Now it came to pass on a certain day that He went into a ship with his disciples, and He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” And they launched out.

23 But as they sailed, He fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water and were in jeopardy.

24 They came to Him, and woke him, saying, “Master, master, we perish.” Then he rose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

25 And He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they, being afraid, wondered, saying one to another, “What manner of man is this! He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him.

26 And they arrived at the country of the Reward at the End (Gadarenes), which is across from Circuit-District (Galilee).

27 When He landed, a certain man out of the city met Him there, who had devils for a long time, who wore no clothes, nor lived in any house, but in the tombs.

28 When he saw I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua), he cried out and fell down before Him, and with a loud voice cried, “What have I to do with You, I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua), You Son of God most high? I beg you, do not torment me.

29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Oftentimes it had caught him, and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; but he broke the bands and was driven by the devil into the wilderness.)

30 Then I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “Legion”: because many devils had entered into him.”

31 And they begged Him not to command them to go out into the deep.

32 There was a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: they begged Him to permit them to enter them. So, he permitted them.

33 Then the devils went out of the man and entered the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake and drowned.

34 When those who fed them saw what was done, they fled and went and told it in the city and in the country.

35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua), and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua), clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

36 They were also told by what means he who was possessed of the devils was healed.

37 Then the whole multitude of the country from around Reward at the End (Gadarenes) begged Him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: so, He got back into the ship and returned.

38 Now the man out of whom the devils had departed asked if he could go with Him: but I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) sent him away, saying,

39 Return to your house and show the great things God has done for you.” So, he went his way and published throughout the whole city what great things I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) had done for him.

40 And it came to pass, that, when I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) returned, the people gladly received Him. They were all still waiting for Him.

41 There, a man named Whom God Enlightens (Jairus) came. He was a ruler of the synagogue. He fell at I AM is Our Salvation’s (Yeshua’s) feet, and begged Him to come into his house:

42 Because he had one child, an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay dying. But as He went, the people thronged Him.

43 And a woman having an issue of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living on physicians, neither could be healed of any,

44 Came behind Him and touched the border of His garment: and immediately her issue of blood stopped.

45 I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) said, “Who touched me?” When all denied it, Stone (Peter) and those who were with Him said, “Master, the multitude throng You and press You, and yet You say, Who touched me?”

46 But I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) answered, “Someone has touched Me: for I perceive that power has gone out of Me.”

47 When the woman saw that she could not hide, she came trembling, and falling down before Him, she declared to Him before all the people why she had touched Him, and how she was healed immediately.

48 He said to her, “Daughter, be of good comfort: your faith has made you whole; go in peace.”

49 While he yet spoke, there came one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Master.”

50 But when I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) heard it, He answered him, saying, “Fear not: believe only, and she will be made whole.”

51 When he came into the house, he permitted no man to go in, save Stone (Peter), and Supplanter (James), and I AM is a Gracious Giver (I AM is a Gracious Giver (John)), and the father and the mother of the maiden.

52 All wept, and bewailed her: but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.”

53 And they laughed at him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.

54 So He put them all out, took her by the hand, and called, saying, “Maid, arise.”

55 Her spirit came back, and she arose immediately: and He told them to give her food.

56 Her parents were astonished, but He charged them to tell no man what was done.

Battering Ram (Mark) 5

1 They went to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Reward at the End (Gadarenes).

2 When He came out of the ship, immediately a man with an unclean spirit met Him out of the tombs,

3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs. No one could bind him, not even with chains:

4 He had often been bound with fetters and chains. He had plucked off the chains, and broken the fetters in pieces and no man could tame him.

5 Always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

6 But when he saw I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) afar off, he ran and worshipped Him,

7 And cried with a loud voice, saying, “What have I to do with You, I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua), Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, please do not torment me.”

8 For He said to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit.”

9 He asked him, “What is your name?” He answered, “My name is Legion: for we are many.”

10 And he begged Him repeatedly that He would not send them away out of the country.

11 Now near the mountains a great herd of swine was feeding.

12 And all the devils begged Him, saying, “Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.”

13 I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) agreed and gave them leave. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and drowned in the sea.

14 Those that fed the swine fled, and told what happened in the city, and in the country. So, a great crowd went out to see what had happened.

15 When they came to I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua), they saw the man who was possessed with the devil,  had the legion, sitting,  clothed, in his right mind: and they were afraid.

16 They saw that what was told to them was true, and learned how it happened to the man who was possessed with the devil and also concerning the swine.

17 Then they begged Him to leave their territory.

18 When he went to the ship, the man who had been possessed with the devil asked to go with Him.

19 But I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) refused, saying to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them how great things the Lord has done for you, and has had compassion on you.”

20 So he departed and began to publish in Ten Cities (Decapolis) all the great things I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) had done for him: and all men marveled.

21 When I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) passed over again by ship to the other side, many people gathered to Him near the sea.

22 There one of the rulers of the synagogue, Whom God Enlightens (Jairus) by name came; and when he saw Him, he fell at His feet,

23 Desperately pleading, “My little daughter lies at the point of death: I beg You, come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed; and she will live.

24 I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) went with him, and many people followed Him and thronged Him.

25 On the way a certain woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years,

26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was not better, but rather grew worse,

27 When she heard of I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua), she came in the press behind and touched His garment.

28 For she said, “If I may touch but His clothes, I will be whole.”

29 And right away the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

30 I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua), immediately knew in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around about in the press, and said, “Who touched my clothes?”

31 His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched me?’”

32 He looked round about to see who had done this thing.

33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came, fell down before Him, and told Him all the truth.

34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you whole; go in peace and be healed of your plague.”

35 While He spoke, a certain man came from the ruler of the synagogue's house who said, “Your daughter is dead: why trouble the Master any further?”

36 As soon as I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) heard these words, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Be not afraid, only believe.”

37 And He permitted no one to follow Him, save Stone (Peter), Supplanter (James), and I AM is a Gracious Giver (John) the brother of Supplanter (James).

38 Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw the tumult, and those that wept and wailed greatly.

39 When He came in, He said to them, “Why are you making all this ruckus, and weeping? The damsel is not dead, but sleeps.”

40 They laughed Him to scorn. But when He had put them all out, He took the father and the mother of the damsel, and those that were with Him, and entered in where the damsel was lying.

41 He took the damsel by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha cumi;” which is, being interpreted is, “Damsel, I say to thee, arise.”

42 Right away, the damsel arose and walked. She was twelve years old. And they were astonished with great astonishment.

43 He instructed them right away that no man should know it and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
