The Beginning (Genesis) 49

1 Heel-Grabber (Jacob) called his sons, and said, “Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you what will befall you in the last days.

2 Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Heel-Grabber (Jacob); and listen to God Prevails (Israel) your father.

3 Behold a Son (Reuben), you are my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:

4 Unstable as water, you will not excel; because you went up to your father's bed; then you defiled it. He went up to my couch.

5 Heard (Simeon) and Joined To (Levi) are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.

6 O my soul, come not their secret. Into their assembly, my honor, be not united. In their anger, they slew a man, and in their self will they hamstrung an ox.

7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Heel-Grabber (Jacob), and scatter them in God Prevails (Israel) .

8 Praised (Judah), you are he whom your brethren shall praise. Your hand shall be in the neck of your enemies. Your Father's children shall bow down before you.

9 Praised (Judah) is a lion's whelp. With the prey, my son, you climb high. He stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?

10 The scepter shall not depart from Praised (Judah), nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Tranquility (Shiloh) come; and to him shall the gathering of the people be.

11 Binding his foal to the vine, and his ass's colt to the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes.

12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.

13 Exalted (Zebulun) shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be n haven for ships; and his border shall be to Hunter/Fisher (Zidon).

14 Recompense (Issachar) is a strong ass couching down between two burdens.

15 He saw that rest was good, and that the land was pleasant. He bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant to tribute.

16 Judge (Dan) shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of God Prevails (Israel) .

17 Judge (Dan) shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that bites the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.

18 I have waited for your salvation, O LORD.

19 Troop (Gad), a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.

20 Out of Happy (Asher) his bread will be fat, and he will yield royal dainties.

21 Wrestling (Naphtali) is a deer let loose: he gives good words.

22 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) is a fruitful bough, a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall.

23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:

24 But his bow was strong, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Heel-Grabber (Jacob); (from there is the shepherd, the stone of God Prevails (Israel).

25 The God of your father will help you. The the Nurturer (El Shaddai), will bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lie under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:

26 The blessings of your father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills. They will be on the head of Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

27 Son of the Right Hand (Benjamin) is a ravenous wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.

28 These are the twelve tribes of God Prevails (Israel). And this is what their father spoke over them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.

29 Then he charged them, saying, I am to be gathered to my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Fawn-Like (Ephron) the Terror (Hittite),

30 In the cave in the field of Double Portion (Machpelah), which is before Strength (Mamre), in the land of Humbled One (Canaan), which Father of a Multitude (Abraham) bought with the field of Fawn-Like (Ephron) the Terror (Hittite) for a possession of a burying place.

31 There they buried Father of a Multitude (Abraham) and Noblewoman (Sarah) his wife; there they buried Laughter (Isaac) and Secured (Rebekah) his wife; and there I buried Weary (Leah).

32 The purchase of the field and of the cave that is there was from the children of Terror (Heth).

33 And when Heel-Grabber (Jacob) had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered to his people.

The Beginning (Genesis) 45

1 Then Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, “Cause every man to go out from me.” And there stood no man with him, while Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) made himself known to his brothers.

2 He wept aloud, and the Double Straighters (Egyptians) and the house of the Great House (Pharaoh) heard.

3 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) said to his brothers, “I am Yehovah Will Add (Joseph). Is my father still alive? His brothers could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.

4 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) said to his brothers, “Come near to me, please.” So they came near. He said, “I am Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) your brother, whom you sold into Double Straights (Egypt).

5 Do not be grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you sold me here: for God ('Elohiym) sent me before you to preserve life.

6 For two years the famine has been in the land: and there are five more years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.

7 God ('Elohiym) sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

8 So now it was not you that sent me here, but God ('Elohiym) and He has made me a father to the Great House (Pharaoh), and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Double Straights (Egypt).

9 Hurry, go up to my father, and say to him, “This is what your son Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) says, God ('Elohiym) has made me lord of all Double Straights (Egypt): come down to me, tarry not:

10 And you shall dwell in the land of Drawing Near (Goshen), and you shall be near me, you, and your children, and your children's children, and your flocks, and your herds, and all that you have:

11 And there will I nourish you; for there are yet five years of famine; lest you, and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty.

12 Your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Son of the Right Hand (Benjamin), that it is my mouth that speaks to you.

13 Tell my father of all my glory in Double Straights (Egypt), and of all that you have seen. Hurry and bring my father down here.”

14 He hugged his brother Son of the Right Hand (Benjamin)'s neck, and wept; and Son of the Right Hand (Benjamin) wept on his neck.

15 Moreover he kissed all his brethren, and wept on them: and after that his brethren talked with him.

16 The news was heard in the Great House (Pharaoh)'s house, saying, “Yehovah Will Add (Joseph)'s brothers have come.” It pleased the Great House (Pharaoh) well, and his servants.

17 The Great House (Pharaoh) said to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), “Say to your brethren, Load your beasts, and go to the land of Humbled One (Canaan);

18 Take your father and your households, and come to me: and I will give you the good of the land of Double Straights (Egypt), and you shall eat the fat of the land.

19 Now you are commanded, this do you; take wagons out of the land of Double Straights (Egypt) for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.

20 Don't worry about not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Double Straights (Egypt) is yours.

21 The children of God Prevails (Israel) did so and Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) gave them wagons, according to the commandment of the Great House (Pharaoh), giving them provision for the way.

22 He gave each man a change of clothing; but to Son of the Right Hand (Benjamin) he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes of clothing.

23 And to his father he sent ten asses laden with the good things of Double Straights (Egypt), and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and meat for his father by the way.

24 So he sent his brothers away, and they departed: and he said to them, “Be careful on the way.”

25 They went up out of Double Straights (Egypt), and came into the land of Humbled One (Canaan) to Heel-Grabber (Jacob) their father,

26 And told him, “Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) is alive, and he is governor over all the land of Double Straights (Egypt). And Heel-Grabber (Jacob)'s heart fainted with disbelief!

27 They told him all that Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) had sent to carry him, the spirit of Heel-Grabber (Jacob) their father revived:

28 And God Prevails (Israel) said, “It is enough; Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) my son is yet alive: I will go and see him before I die.”

The Beginning (Genesis) 44

1 He commanded the steward of his house, saying, “Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth.

2 And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack's mouth of the youngest, and his corn money.” He did what Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) had directed.

3 As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their asses.

4 When they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) said to his steward, “Up, follow after the men; and when you overtake them, say to them, Why have you rewarded my lord with evil for good?”

5 Why have you taken his cup with which he divines. You have done evil in so doing.”

  6And he overtook them, and he spoke to them the same words.
  7They protested, “Why would my lord say these words? God forbid that you servants would do this thing!

8 Look! We brought back the money, which we found in our sacks' mouths, from of the land of Humbled One (Canaan). Why would we steal out of your lord's house silver or gold?

9 With whomsoever of your servants it be found, let him die, and we also will be my lord's bondmen.”

10 And he said, “I hear your words, but he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and you shall be blameless.”

11 Then they speedily took down every man his sack to the ground, and each man opened his sack.

12 He searched, beginning with the eldest, down to the youngest: and the cup was found in Son of the Right Hand's (Benjamin) sack.

13 Then they tore their clothes, and reloaded every man's ass, and returned to the city.

14 Praised (Judah) and his brothers came to Yehovah Will Add's (Joseph) house; for he was still there: and they fell before him on the ground.

15 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) said to them, “What deed is this that you have done? Did you not know that such a man as I can certainly divine?”

16 Praised (Judah) pleaded, “What shall we say to my lord? What shall we speak? or How shall we clear ourselves? God ('Elohiym) has found out the iniquity of your servants. We are my lord's servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found.”

17 And he said, “God forbid should I do so! The man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, go in peace to your father.”

18 Then Praised (Judah) came near him, and said, “Oh my lord, please let your servant,, speak a word in my lord's ears, and let not your anger burn against your servant. For you are even as the Great House (Pharaoh).

19 My lord asked his servants, saying, “Have you a father, or a brother?

20 And we said to my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one. His brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loves him.

21 You said to your servants, Bring him down to me, that I may set my eyes on him.

22 And we said to my lord, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die.

23 You said to your servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, you shall see my face no more.

24 When we got to your servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.

25 And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food.

26 We said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother is with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man's face, except our youngest brother be with us.

27 Your servant my father said to us, You know that my wife bore me two sons:

28 The one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces. I haven't seen him since.

29 If you take him also from me, and mischief befall him, you shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

30 Now therefore if I come to your servant my father, and the lad is not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad's life.

31 It shall come to pass, when he sees that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and your servants will bring down the gray hairs of your servant our father with sorrow to the grave.

32 For your servant became surety for the lad to my father, saying, If I don't bring him back to you, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever.

33 Now therefore, please, let your servant be a bondman to my lord instead of the lad; and let the lad go up with his brothers.

34 For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? Lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.”

The Beginning (Genesis) 43

1 The famine was bad in the land.

2 And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Double Straights (Egypt), their father said to them, “Go again, buy us a little food.”

3 Praised (Judah) answered him, “The man solemnly warned us, saying, You shall not see my face, unless your brother is with you.

4 If you will send our brother with us, we will go down and buy food:

5 But if you will not send him, we will not go down. The man said to us, You shall not see my face, unless your brother is with you.”

6 God Prevails (Israel) said, Why did you do this to me? Why would you tell the man you had another brother?”

7 They said, “The man asked us straight out about our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? Do you have another brother? We answered his questions. How could we have known that he would say, Bring your brother down?”

8 Praised (Judah) said to God Prevails (Israel) his father, “Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and you, and also our little ones.

9 I will be surety for him; of my hand you can require him: if I don't bring him back to you, and set him before you, then let me bear the blame for ever.

10 If we hadn't lingered, surely now we would have already returned again.”

11 Their father God Prevails (Israel) said to them, “If it must be, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and take the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds:

12 And take double money in your hand. The money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, take it back with you; peradventure it was an oversight:

13 Take your brother too, and arise, go again to the man:

14 May God the Nurturer (El Shaddai) give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Son of the Right Hand (Benjamin). If I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.”

15 So the men took the present, and they took double money in their hand, and Son of the Right Hand (Benjamin); and rose up, and went down to Double Straights (Egypt), and stood before Yehovah Will Add (Joseph).

16 When Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) saw Son of the Right Hand (Benjamin) with them, he said to the ruler of his house, “Bring these men home, slaughter an animal, and cook it. These men will dine with me at noon.”

17 The man did as Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) commanded; and the man brought the men into Yehovah Will Add (Joseph)'s house.

18 And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Yehovah Will Add (Joseph)'s house. They said, “It's because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in. He is setting us up so he can attack us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses.”

19 But, they went with the steward of Yehovah Will Add (Joseph)'s house, and talked with him at the door of the house,

20 Saying, “O sir, when we came the first time to buy food:

21 After we left, when we stopped for the night, we opened our sacks, and every man's money was in the mouth of his sack. Our money in full weight we have brought back to you.

22 We have also brought other money to buy food: we cannot tell who put our money in our sacks.”

23 And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God ('Elohiym), and the God ('Elohiym) of your father, has given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money.” Then he brought Heard (Simeon) out to them.

24 The man brought the men into Yehovah Will Add (Joseph)'s house, and gave them water, and they washed their feet; and he gave their asses feed.

25 Then they made ready the present for Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) who was coming at noon: for they heard that they were to eat there.

26 When Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) came home, they brought him the present that was with them into the house, and bowed themselves to him to the earth.

27 He asked them of their welfare, and said, “Is your father well, the old man of whom you spoke? Is he still alive?”

28 They answered, “Your servant, our father, is in good health, he is still alive.” And they bowed down their heads, and made obeisance.

29 He lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Son of the Right Hand (Benjamin), his mother's son, and said, “Is this your younger brother, of whom you spoke to me?” And he said, “God ('Elohiym) be gracious to you, my son.”

30 Then Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) hurried out; for his bowels yearned for his brother: and he sought a place to weep. He went into his chamber, and wept there.

31 Then he washed his face, and went out, and refrained himself, and said, “Set on the bread.”

32 They sat Joseph by himself, and his brothers by themselves and the Double Straighters (Egyptians), who ate with him, by themselves, so the Double Straighters (Egyptians) might not eat bread with the One From Beyonds (Hebrews); for that was an abomination to the Double Straighters (Egyptians).

33 They sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men marveled one at another.

34 He took and sent portions to them from before him: but Son of the Right Hand (Benjamin)'s portion was five times so much as any of theirs. And they drank, and were merry with him.
