The Beginning (Genesis) 41

1 At the end of two full years, the Great House (Pharaoh) dreamed a dream: He stood by the river.
2 Up out of the river came seven beautiful, healthy milk cows; and they fed in a meadow.
3 Then, seven other milk cows came up after them out of the river. They were ugly and skinny. They stood by the other milk cows on the bank of the river.
4 The ill ugly, skinny milk cows ate up the seven beautiful and healthy milk cows. So the Great House (Pharaoh) awoke.
5 He went to sleep and dreamed the second time. This time, seven ears of corn came up on one stalk, fat and good.
6 Then seven thin ears scorched by the east wind sprung up after them.
7 The seven thin ears devoured the seven fat and full ears. Then Great House (Pharaoh) woke from the dream.
8 That morning his spirit was troubled. He sent messages and called for all the magicians of Double Straights (Egypt), and all the wise men there too. Then Great House (Pharaoh) told them his dream; but none of them could interpret them for the Great House (Pharaoh).
9 Then the chief butler spoke to Great House (Pharaoh), saying, “I remember my faults this day:
10 The Great House (Pharaoh) was angry with his servants, and put me in prison in the captain of the guard's house, along with the chief baker:
11 We each dreamed a dream one night and we both wanted an interpretation of our dream.
12 There was a young man with us there, a One From Beyond (Hebrew), servant to the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he interpreted to us; giving each of us a different interpretation.
13 And it came to pass, just as he interpreted to us. I was restored to my office, and he was hanged.”
14 Then Great House (Pharaoh) sent for Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon. He shaved, and changed his raiment, and came to Great House (Pharaoh).
15 Great House (Pharaoh) said to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), “I have dreamed a dream, and there is no one that can interpret it: and I have heard you can understand a dream to interpret it.”
16 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) answered the Great House (Pharaoh), saying, “It is not in me: God ('Elohiym) shall give Great House (Pharaoh) an answer of peace.”
17 Great House (Pharaoh) said to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), “In my dream, I stood on the bank of the river.
18 And, out of the river there came up seven milk cows, fat and perfectly formed; and they fed in a meadow:
19 And, behold, seven other milk cows came up after them. They were poor and very sick and skinny. I have never seen anything as bad in all the land of Double Straights (Egypt).
20 The lean and the sickly milk cows devoured the first seven fat milk cows:
21 And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them. They were still thin and sickly, as they were at the beginning. Then I awoke.
22 Again I dreamed: Seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good:
23 Then seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them.
24 The thin ears devoured the seven good ears. I told this to the magicians; but none of them could interpret for me.”
25 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) said to the Great House (Pharaoh), The dreams of the Great House (Pharaoh) are one: God ('Elohiym) has showed the Great House (Pharaoh) what He is about to do.
26 The seven good milk cows are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dreams are the same.
27 The seven thin and sickly milk cows that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind will be seven years of famine.
28 This is the thing as I have spoken to you, Great House (Pharaoh): What God ('Elohiym) is about to do he has shown to the Great House (Pharaoh).
29 There will come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Double Straights (Egypt):
30 Then there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Double Straights (Egypt); and the famine shall consume the land;
31 The abundance will not be perceived in the land because of the famine that follows. It will be very bad.
32 The Great House (Pharaoh) was given this dream twice; it is because the thing is established by God ('Elohiym), and God ('Elohiym) will shortly bring it to pass.
33 Now therefore let The Great House (Pharaoh) look for a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Double Straights (Egypt).
34 Give him the authority of The Great House (Pharaoh) , and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Double Straights (Egypt) in the seven plenteous years.
35 And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up grain under the hand of the Great House (Pharaoh), and let them keep food in the cities.
36 And that food shall be to store for the land against the seven years of famine, which will be in the land of Double Straights (Egypt); that the land perish not through the famine.
37 And the thing was good in the eyes of the Great House (Pharaoh), and in the eyes of all his servants.
38 Great House (Pharaoh) said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom the Spirit of God ('Elohim) is?
39 Then the Great House (Pharaoh) said to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), “Since God ('Elohiym) has shown you all this, there is none so discreet and wise as you:
40 You shall be over my house, and according to your word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than you.”
41 The Great House (Pharaoh) said to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), “See, I have set you over all the land of Double Straights (Egypt).”
42 And the Great House (Pharaoh) took off his ring from his hand, and put it on Yehovah Will Add (Joseph)'s hand, and arrayed him in clothing of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;
43 He made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, “Bow the knee!”: and he made him ruler over all the land of Double Straights (Egypt).
44 The Great House (Pharaoh) said to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), “I am the Great House (Pharaoh), and without you no man will lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Double Straights (Egypt).”
45 And the Great House (Pharaoh) called Yehovah Will Add (Joseph)'s name Treasury of the Glorious Rest (Zaphnath-paaneah); and he gave him Belonging to Water Weaver (Neith - Virgin Mother, the goddess of war) the daughter of He Whom the Ra Gave (Poti-pherah), priest of Strength and Vigor (On), for a wife. And Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) went out over all the land of Double Straights (Egypt).
46 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) was thirty years old when he stood before the Great House (Pharaoh) king of Double Straights (Egypt). Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) went out from the presence of the Great House (Pharaoh), and went throughout all the land of Double Straights (Egypt).
47 In the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.
48 He gathered up all the food of the seven years in the land of Double Straights (Egypt), and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.
49 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) gathered grain as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.
50 And to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Belonging to Water Weaver (Neith - Virgin Mother, the goddess of war) the daughter of He Whom the Ra Gave (Poti-pherah) priest of Strength and Vigor (On) bore unto him.
51 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) called the name of the firstborn Causing to Forget (Manasseh). “For God,” he said, “has made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.”
52 And the name of the second called he Double Ash-Heap: Doubly Fruitful (Ephraim): “ For God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.”
53 The seven years of plenty in the land of Double Straights (Egypt), were ended.
54 Then the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) had said and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Double Straights (Egypt) there was bread.
55 When all the land of Double Straights (Egypt) was famished, the people cried to the Great House (Pharaoh) for bread: and the Great House (Pharaoh) said to all the Egyptians, Go to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph). What he says to you, do.
56 Now the famine was over all the face of the earth. Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) opened all the storehouses, and sold to the Egyptians; and the famine drug on in the land of Double Straights (Egypt).
57 And all countries came to Double Straights (Egypt) to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) for to buy grain; because the famine was so bad in all lands.

The Beginning (Genesis) 40

1 Later, the butler of the king of Double Straights (Egypt) and his baker had offended their lord the king of Double Straights (Egypt).
2 And the Great House (Pharaoh) was angry with two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.
3 He put them in the ward of the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) was bound.
4 The captain of the guard charged Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.
5 The butler and the baker of the king of Double Straights (Egypt), which were bound in the prison both dreamed a dream. Each man had his dream on the same night and each man's dream had it's own interpretation.
6 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) came in to them in the morning, and saw that they were sad.
7 He asked the Great House's (Pharaoh) officers that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, “Why do you look so sad today?”
8 They answered him, “We have dreamed a dream, and don't understand it. Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) said to them, “Don't interpretations belong to God ('Elohiym)? Please, tell them to me.”
9 So the chief butler told his dream to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), saying, “In my dream, I looked and a vine was before me;
10 In the vine were three branches. It budded, the blossoms shot forth; and the clusters brought forth ripe grapes:
11 Then the Great House's (Pharaoh) cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into the Great House's (Pharaoh) cup, and I put the cup into the Great House's (Pharaoh) hand.”
12 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) told him, “This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:
13 Within three days the Great House (Pharaoh) will bring you out, and restore you to your place: and you will deliver Great House's (Pharaoh) cup into his hand, as you used to when you were his butler.
14 Please think of me when it is well with you, and show kindness to me, and make mention of me to the Great House (Pharaoh), and bring me out of this prison.
15 I was stolen away out of the land of One From Beyonds (Hebrews). I have done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
16 When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), I also had a dream. In it, I had three white baskets on my head:
17 And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of baked goods for the Great House (Pharaoh); and the birds ate them out of the basket on my head.”
18 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) answered saying, “This is the interpretation: The three baskets are three days:
19 Within three days the Great House (Pharaoh) will bring you out, and hang your body on a tree; and the birds will eat your flesh.
20 On the third day, which was the Great House's (Pharaoh) birthday, he made a feast for all his servants: and he brought up the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
21 He restored the chief butler to his butlership again; and he once again gave the cup into the Great House's (Pharaoh) hand:
22 But he hanged the chief baker: as Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) had interpreted to them.
23 But did not the chief butler remember Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), forgetting him.

The Beginning (Genesis) 39

1 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) was brought down to Double Straights (Egypt); and Belonging to the Sun (Potiphar), an officer of the Great House (Pharaoh), captain of the guard, a Double Straighter (Egyptian), bought him out of the hands of the tribe of God Will Hear (Ishmaeelites), which had brought him down there.
2 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) was with Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), and he was a prosperous man in the house of his master the Double Straighter (Egyptian).
3 His master saw that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) was with him, and that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
4 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.
5 From the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) blessed the Double Straighter's (Egyptian's) house for Yehovah Will Add's (Joseph) sake; and the blessing of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) was on all that he had in the house, and in the field.
6 And he left all that he had in Yehovah Will Add's (Joseph) hand. He didn't even know what he had, save the food which he ate. Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) was a goodly person, and well favored.
7 Eventually, his master's wife cast her eyes on Yehovah Will Add (Joseph); and she said, “Lie with me.”
8 But he refused, and said to his master's wife, “Look, my master trusts me in this house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand;
9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither has he kept back any thing from me but you, because you are his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God ('Elohiym)?”
10 She kept approaching Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) day by day, but he would not listen to her, to lie by her, or to be with her.
11 Then one day, Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) went into the house to do his business; and none of the men of the house were inside.
12 She caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got out.
13 When she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and had run,
14 She called to the men of her house, and spoke to them, saying, “See, he has brought in this One From Beyond (Hebrew) to us to mock us; he came in to me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice.
15 When I screamed, he left his garment with me, and fled, and got out.
16 And she laid his garment beside her, until his lord came home.
17 Then she told him, “The One From Beyond (Hebrew) servant, which you have brought to us, came in to me to mock me:
18 When I screamed, he left his garment with me, and fled.
19 When his master heard the words of his wife saying, “This is what your servant did to me.” his wrath was kindled.
20 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph)'s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.
21 ¶ But I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) was with Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), and shewed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph)'s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatever they did there, he was in charge of it.
23 The keeper of the prison payed no attention to anything under his hand; because I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) was with him, and all which he did, I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) made it to prosper.

The Beginning (Genesis) 38

1 At that time, that Praised (Judah) went down from his brothers, and visited a man from Justice of the People (Adullam), whose name was A Noble Family (Hirah).
2 There Praised (Judah) saw a daughter of the Humbled Ones (Canaanites), whose name was Wealth (Shuah); and he took her, and went in to her.
3 She conceived, and bore a son; and he called his name Awake (Er).
4 Then she conceived again, and bore a son; and she called his name Strong (Onan).
5 Again she conceived, and bore a son; and called his name A Petition (Shelah): and he was at False (Chezib) , when she bore him.
6 Praised (Judah) took a wife for Awake (Er) his firstborn, whose name was Date Palm (Tamar).
7 But, Awake (Er), Praised's (Judah) firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him.
8 So Praised (Judah) said to Strong (Onan), “Go into your brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed for your brother.”
9 Strong (Onan) knew that the seed would not be his; and it came to pass, when he went into his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.
10 And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: therefore He slew him also.
11 Then said Praised (Judah) to Date Palm (Tamar) his daughter in law, “Remain a widow at your father's house, till A Petition (Shelah) my son be grown” For he said, “Lest peradventure he die also, as his brothers did.” So Date Palm (Tamar) went and dwelt in her father's house.
12 After many years, the daughter of Wealth (Shuah) Praised (Judah)'s wife died. To comfort himself, Praised (Judah) went up to his sheep shearers in Portion (Timnath) with his friend A Noble Family (Hirah) the one from Justice of the People (Adullam).
13 It was told to Date Palm (Tamar), saying, “Your father in law is going up to Portion (Timnath) to shear his sheep.”
14 So she put her widow's garments off from her, and covered her face with a veil, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which was on the way to Portion (Timnath); for she saw that A Petition (Shelah) was grown, and she was not given to him to wife.
15 When Praised (Judah) saw her, he thought she was a prostitute, because she had covered her face.
16 He turned to her by the road, and said, “Let me come in to you.” (For he knew not that she was his daughter in law.) And she said, “What will you give me, that you might come in to me?”
17 And he said, “I will send a kid from the flock.” She replied, Will you give me a pledge, until you send it?”
18 He asked, “What pledge should I give you?” She said, “Your signet, and your bracelets, and your staff that is in your hand.” So he gave them to her, and came in to her, and she conceived by him.
19 She arose, and went away, and took her veil off, and put on the garments of her widowhood.
20 Praised (Judah) sent the kid by the hand of his friend the one from Justice of the People (Adullam), to receive his pledge from the woman's hand: but he didn't find her.
21 Then he asked the men of that place, “Where is the harlot, that was by the way side?” And they said, “There was no harlot in this place.”
22 He returned to Praised (Judah), and said, “I cannot find her; and the men of the place said, that there was no harlot there.”
23 Praised (Judah) said, “Let her keep it , lest we be shamed. I set this kid, and you have not found her.”
24 And it came to pass about three months later, Praised (Judah)was told that Date Palm (Tamar), his daughter in law, has played the harlot; and also she was with child by whoredom. So Praised (Judah) said, “Bring her out, and let her be burnt.”
25 When she was brought out, she sent to her father in law, saying, “By the man, whose these are, I am with child.” She said, “Tell me who do these belong to: this the signet, and bracelets, and staff?”
26 Praised (Judah) acknowledged them, and said, “She has been more righteous than I; because I did not give her to A Petition (Shelah) my son.” And he knew her again no more.
27 ,When she went into labor there were twins in her womb.
28 And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound a scarlet thread on his hand, saying, “This one came out first.”
29 Then he drew back his hand and his brother came out. She said, “How have you broken forth? What a breach!” Therefore his name was called Breach (Pharez).
30 And afterward his brother came out. The one that had the scarlet thread on his hand: and his name was called Rising (Zarah).

The Beginning (Genesis) 37

1 Heel-Grabber (Jacob) dwelt in the land where his father was a stranger, in the land of Humbled One (Canaan).
2 These are the generations of Heel-Grabber (Jacob). When Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) was seventeen years old, he was feeding the flock with his brothers, the sons of Troubled (Bilhah), the sons of A Trickling (Zilpah), his father's wives, and Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) brought an evil report of them to his father.
3 Now God Prevails (Israel) loved Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colors.
4 When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably to him.
5 Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) then dreamed a dream, and he told his brothers about it, and they hated him even yet the more.
6 He said to them, “Listen to this dream which I dreamed:
7 We were binding sheaves in the field, and my sheaf arose, and stood upright; and your sheaves stood around mine, and bowed to my sheaf.”
8 His brothers said to him, “So you will reign over us? You think you will have dominion over us?” And they hated him even more for his dreams, and for his words.
9 Then he dreamed another dream, and told it to his brothers, saying, “I have dreamed more about this. In this dream, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars bowed down to me.”
10 And he told this to his father, and to his brothers: and his father rebuked him saying to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall I and your mother and your brothers come to bow down ourselves to the earth?”
11 His brothers envied him; but his father seriously considered the dream.
12 Then his brothers went to feed their father's flock in Shoulder (Shechem).
13 God Prevails (Israel) said to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), “Aren't your brothers feeding the flock in Shoulder (Shechem)? Come, and I will send you to them.” Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) answered, “Here I am.”
14 He said to him, “Please go see how your brothers and the flock are doing. Then come back and report to me.” So he sent him out of the vale of Association (Hebron), and he came to Shoulder (Shechem).
15 A certain man found him when he was wandering in the field. The man asked him, “What are you looking for?”
16 He said, “I'm looking for my brothers. Do you know where they feed their flocks?”
17 The man said, “They've left here. I heard them say, Let's go to Two Wells (Dothan).” So Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) went after his brethren, and found them in Two Wells (Dothan).
18 When they saw him afar off, even before he came near them, they conspired against him to slay him.
19 They said one to another, “Here comes the dreamer!
20 “Let's kill him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast devoured him. Then shall see what will become of his dreams.”
21 But, Behold a Son (Reuben) heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands, saying, “Let's not kill him.”
22 Behold a Son (Reuben) continued, “Shed no blood. Throw him into this pit in the wilderness, but don't hurt him.” so he could get him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again.
23 When Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) came to his brothers, they stripped Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) of his coat, the coat of many colors that he was wearing.
24 Then they took him, and cast him into a pit. The pit was empty, there was no water in it.
25 And they sat down to eat bread: and they looked, and saw, a company of the tribe of God Will Hear (Ishmaeelites) coming from Rocky Region (Gilead) with their camels bearing spices and balm and myrrh, on their way down to Double Straights (Egypt).
26 So Praised (Judah) said to his brethren, “What profit is there if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?
27 Come, let us sell him to the tribe of God Will Hear (Ishmaeelites), and not put our hand on him. After all, he is our brother and our flesh.” And his brothers agreed.
28 Then the Strifers (Midianites), who were merchantmen, passed by. They drew Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) out of the pit, and sold Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) to the tribe of God Will Hear (Ishmaeelites) for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) into Double Straights (Egypt).
29 When Behold a Son (Reuben) returned to the pit, Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) was not in the pit; and he tore his clothes.
30 He returned to his brothers, and said, “The boy is not there! How can I go back?”
31 So they took Yehovah Will Add (Joseph)'s coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood;
32 And they sent the coat of many colors to their father, and said, “We found this. Isn't it your son's coat?”
33 He acknowledged it, saying, “It is my son's coat. An evil beast has devoured him; Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) is without doubt torn to pieces.”
34 Heel-Grabber (Jacob) tore his clothes, and put sackcloth on his loins, and mourned for his son many days.
35 And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, “I will go down to the grave mourning for my son.” Thus his father wept for him.
36 The Strifers (Midianites) sold him in Double Straights (Egypt) to Belonging to the Sun (Potiphar), an officer of the Great House (Pharaoh)'s, and captain of the guard.
