The Beginning (Genesis) 47

Then Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) came and told Great House (Pharaoh), “My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, have come out of the land of Humbled One (Canaan) and they are in the land of Drawing Near (Goshen).
He took some of his brethren, five men, and presented them to Great House (Pharaoh).
Great House (Pharaoh) said to his brethren, “What is your occupation? They answered Great House (Pharaoh), “Your servants are shepherds, both we, and also our fathers.”
They also told Great House (Pharaoh), We have come to dwell for a time because we have no pasture in the land of Humbled One (Canaan) because of the famine. So, please, let your servants dwell in the land of Drawing Near (Goshen).
Great House (Pharaoh) spoke to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), saying, “Your father and your brethren have come to you.
The land of Double Straights (Egypt) is before you; make your father and brethren dwell in the best of the land. Let them dwell in the land of Drawing Near (Goshen). And if you know any men of ability among them, make them rulers over my cattle.
Then Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) brought in Heel-Grabber (Jacob) his father, and set him before the Great House (Pharaoh) and Heel-Grabber (Jacob) blessed the Great House (Pharaoh).
And the Great House (Pharaoh) said to Heel-Grabber (Jacob), “How old are you?”
Heel-Grabber (Jacob) replied to Great House (Pharaoh), “The days of the years of my pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty years. Few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not even begun to reach the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.”
And Heel-Grabber (Jacob) blessed Great House (Pharaoh), and went out from before the Great House (Pharaoh).
Then Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a possession in the land of Double Straights (Egypt), in the best of the land, in the land of Child of the Sun (Rameses), as Great House (Pharaoh) had commanded.
So Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his father's household, with bread, according to their families.
¶ And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very bad, so that the land of Double Straights (Egypt) and all the land of Humbled One (Canaan) fainted by reason of the famine.
Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Double Straights (Egypt), and in the land of Humbled One (Canaan), for the grain which they bought. Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) brought that money into the Great House's (Pharaoh) house.
When money failed in the land of Double Straights (Egypt), and in the land of Humbled One (Canaan), all the Double Straighters (Egyptians) came to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) and said, “Give us bread! Why should we die in your presence? Our money is gone,"
Yehovah will Add (Joseph) said, “If your money is gone, I will give you grain for your animals.”
And they brought their animals to Yehovah Will Add (Joseph). So Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) gave them bread in exchange for horses, and for the flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that year.
When that year was ended, they came to him the second year, and said unto him, “We will not hide it from my lord, how that our money is spent. My lord also has our herds of cattle; there is not anything left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:
Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants to the Great House (Pharaoh) and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land will not be desolate.”
Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) bought all the land of Double Straights (Egypt) for the Great House (Pharaoh). The Double Straighters (Egyptians) sold every man his field, because the famine prevailed over them. So the land became the Great House (Pharaoh)'s.
As for the people, he removed them to cities from one end of the borders of Double Straights (Egypt) even to the other end thereof.
Only the land of the priests didn't buy because the priests had a portion assigned them of the Great House (Pharaoh), and ate their portion which the Great House (Pharaoh) gave them so they didn't have to sell their lands.
Then Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) said to the people, “Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for the Great House (Pharaoh). Here is seed for you, and you will sow the land.
When the harvest comes in, one part will belong to the Great House (Pharaoh), and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for your households, and for food for your little ones.”
And they said, “You have saved our lives. Let us find grace in the sight of my lord, and we will be the Great House's (Pharaoh)servants.”
So Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) made it a law over the land of Double Straights (Egypt) to this day, that the Great House (Pharaoh) should have the fifth part; except the land of the priests only, which did not become the Great House's (Pharaoh).
And God Prevails (Israel) dwelt in the land of Double Straights (Egypt), in the country of Drawing Near (Goshen). They possessed that land, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly.
Heel-Grabber (Jacob) lived in the land of Double Straights (Egypt) seventeen years: so the whole age of Heel-Grabber (Jacob) was an hundred forty and seven years.
When the time drew nigh for God Prevails (Israel) to die, he called his son Yehovah Will Add (Joseph), and said to him, “If now I have found grace in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me. Please do not bury me in Double Straights (Egypt).
But I will lie with my fathers, and Carry me out of Double Straights (Egypt), and bury me in their burying place.” Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) promised, “I will do as you have said.”
And he said, “Swear to me.” So Yehovah Will Add (Joseph) swore to him. Then God Prevails (Israel) bowed himself upon the bed's head.
