The Beginning (Genesis) 24

1Father of a Multitude (Abraham) was old, and well stricken in age. The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) had blessed Father of a Multitude (Abraham) in all things.
2Father of a Multitude (Abraham) said to his eldest servant of his house, who ruled over all that he had, “Please put your hand under my thigh:
3And swear to me by The LORD - I AM (Yehovah), the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Humbled Ones (Canaanites), among whom I dwell:
4But go to my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife for my son Laughter (Isaac).”
5The servant said unto him, What if the woman is not be willing to follow me to this land? Should I take your son to the land from which you came?”
6Father of a Multitude (Abraham) replied, “No, do not take my son back there again.
7The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) God of heaven, who took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and who spoke to me, and who swore to me, saying, Unto your seed I will give this land. He will send his angel before you, and you will take a wife for my son from there.
8If the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be clear from this oath to me: only do not take my son back there.”
9So, the servant put his hand under the thigh of Father of a Multitude (Abraham) his master, and swore to him concerning that matter.
10Then the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Land of the Two Rivers (Mesopotamia), to the city of Snorting (Nahor).
11There he made his camels to kneel down outside the city by a well of water at the time of the evening when the women go out to draw water.
12He prayed, “O I AM LORD God (Yehovah-Elohyim) of my master Father of a Multitude (Abraham), Please, send me good speed this day, and show kindness to my master Father of a Multitude (Abraham).
13Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water:
14Let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I will say, Let down your pitcher, please, that I may drink; and she will say, Drink, and I will give your camels a drink also: let the same be she that You have appointed for Your servant Laughter (Isaac). By that, I will know that You have showed kindness to my master.”
15And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, Secured (Rebekah) came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Snorting (Nahor), Father of a Multitude's (Abraham's) brother, with her pitcher on her shoulder.
16The damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her. She went down to the well, filled her pitcher, and came up.
17The servant ran to meet her, and said, “Please let me, drink a little water from your pitcher.”
18She replied, “Drink, my lord” and she hurried to let down her pitcher with her hand, and gave him drink.
19When she had done giving him drink, she said, “I will draw water for your camels also, until they have done drinking.”
20So she hurried, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, drawing for all his camels.”
21The man, wondering at her, held his peace to see whether The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) had made his journey prosperous or not.
22Then when the camels were done drinking, the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands made of ten shekels weight of gold.
23He said, “Whose daughter are you? Please tell me, is there room in your father's house for us to lodge in?”
24She said to him, “I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, who she bore to Snorting (Nahor).”
25Moreover she said to him, “We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.”
26The man bowed down his head, and worshiped The LORD - I AM (Yehovah).
27He said, “Blessed be The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) God of my master Father of a Multitude (Abraham), who has not left destitute my master of His mercy and His truth: The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) led me to the house of my master's brethren.
28Then the damsel ran, and told her mother's house of these things.
29 Secured (Rebekah) had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out to the man at the well.
30When he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Secured (Rebekah) his sister, saying, “This what the man told me.” he went to the man; and found him as he stood by the camels at the well.
31He said, “Come in, You are blessed of The LORD - I AM (Yehovah); why do you stand outside? I have prepared a room for you, and room for the camels.
32So the man came into the house. He ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender to the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.
33Then food was set before him to eat: but he said, “I will not eat, until I have told my errand.” And he answered, “Speak on.”
34So he explained, “I am Father of a Multitude (Abraham)'s servant.
35The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) has blessed my master greatly; and he has become great. He has given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.
36Noblewoman (Sarah) my master's wife bore a son to my master when she was old: and to him has he given all that he has.
37My master made me swear, saying, You shalt not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Humbled Ones (Canaanites), in whose land I dwell:
38But You shall go to my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife from there for my son.
39And I said to my master, What if the woman will not follow me?
40 But, he said to me, The LORD - I AM (Yehovah), before whom I walk, will send his angel with you, and prosper your way; and you shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house:
41You be clear from this oath, if, when you come to my kindred; and if they will not give you a bride for my son, you shalt be clear from my oath.
42Today, I came to the well, and said, O I AM LORD God (Yehovah-Elohyim) of my master Father of a Multitude (Abraham), if now You are giving me success in this trip,
 43Behold, I stand by the well of water. Let it come to pass, that when the virgin comes forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, please, a little water from your pitcher to drink;
44And she says to me, Drink, and I will also draw for your camels: let the same be the woman whom The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) has appointed for my master's son.
45And before I was done speaking in my heart, behold, Secured (Rebekah) came out with her pitcher on her shoulder. She went down to the well, and drew water. I said to her, Let me drink, please.
46She hurried, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give your camels drink also: so I drank, and she made sure the camels drank also.
47I asked her, Whose daughter are you? She said, the daughter of Bethuel, Snorting (Nahor)'s son, whom Milcah bore to him. So, I put the earring on her face, and the bracelets on her hands.
48Then,I bowed down my head, and worshiped The LORD - I AM (Yehovah), and blessed The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) God of my master Father of a Multitude (Abraham), who had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter for his son.
49And now if you will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.
50Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceeds from The LORD - I AM (Yehovah): we cannot speak to you bad or good.
51Behold, Secured (Rebekah) is before you, take her, and go, and let her be your master's son's wife, as The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) has spoken.
52And it came to pass, that, when Father of a Multitude (Abraham)'s servant heard their words, he worshiped The LORD - I AM (Yehovah), bowing himself to the earth.
53The servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Secured (Rebekah): he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.
54They ate and drank, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, “Send me away to my master.”
55 But, her brother and her mother said, “Let the damsel stay with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she will go.”
56He answered them, Don't hinder me, seeing The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) has prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master.”
57They said, “We will call the damsel, and ask her.”
58They called Secured (Rebekah), and asked her, “Will you go with this man? And she said, I will go.”
59So,they sent Secured (Rebekah) their sister, and her nurse, and Father of a Multitude (Abraham)'s servant, and his men away .
60They blessed Secured (Rebekah), and said to her, “You are our sister, be the mother of thousands of millions, and let your seed possess the gate of those who hate them.”
61Then Secured (Rebekah) arose, and her damsels, riding on the camels they followed the man: and the servant took Secured (Rebekah), and went his way.
62Laughter (Isaac) came from the way of the well the Living One Who Sees Me (Lahairoi); for he dwelt in the south country.
63One evening, Laughter (Isaac) went out to meditate in the field. He looked up and saw the camels were coming.
64 Secured (Rebekah) also looked up, and when she saw Laughter (Isaac), she lighted off the camel.
65She said to the servant, “Who is the man walking in the field to meet us?” The servant replied, “It is my master”. So, she took a veil, and covered herself.
66The servant told Laughter (Isaac) all things that he had done.
67Then Laughter (Isaac) took Secured (Rebekah)into his mother Noblewoman (Sarah)'s tent, and she became his wife; and he loved her. So Laughter (Isaac) was comforted after his mother's death.

The Beginning (Genesis) 23

1Noblewoman (Sarah) lived to be a hundred twenty-seven years old: these were the years of the life of Noblewoman (Sarah).
2Noblewoman (Sarah) died in City of the Four (Kirjatharba); also known as Association (Hebron) in the land of Humbled One (Canaan): and Father of a Multitude (Abraham) came to mourn for Noblewoman (Sarah), and to weep for her.
3Father of a Multitude (Abraham) stood up from before his dead, and spoke to the sons of Terror (Heth), saying,
4:I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a burying place with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.”
5And the children of Terror (Heth) answered Father of a Multitude (Abraham), saying to him,
6”Hear us, my lord: you are a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchers bury your dead; none of us shall withhold from you his sepulcher, bury your dead.”
7Father of a Multitude (Abraham) stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, to the children of Terror (Heth).
8And he communed with them, saying, “If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me. Ask Fawn-Like (Ephron) the son of Tawny (Zohar)
9To give me the cave of Double Portion (Machpelah), which he has, which is in the end of his field; I will pay what it is worth for possession of a burying place amongst you.
10Fawn-Like (Ephron) dwelt among the children of Terror (Heth): and Fawn-Like (Ephron) the Terror (Hittite) answered Father of a Multitude (Abraham) in the audience of the children of Terror (Heth), in front of all at the gate of his city, saying,
11No, my lord, hear me: I will give you the field, and the cave that is therein, I give it to you; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it to you: bury your dead.
12Father of a Multitude (Abraham) bowed down himself before the people of the land.
13And he spoke to Fawn-Like (Ephron) in the audience of the people of the land, saying, “But if you will give it, please, hear me: I will give you money for the field; take it from me, and I will bury my dead there.”
14Fawn-Like (Ephron) answered Father of a Multitude (Abraham), saying to him,
15“My lord, listen to me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that between you and me? bury your dead.”
16Father of a Multitude (Abraham) listened to Fawn-Like (Ephron); and Father of a Multitude (Abraham) weighed to Fawn-Like (Ephron) the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Terror (Heth), four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant.
17So the field of Fawn-Like (Ephron) which was in Double Portion (Machpelah), which was before Strength (Mamre), the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sure
18To Father of a Multitude (Abraham) for a possession in the presence of the children of Terror (Heth), before all that went in at the gate of his city.
19After this, Father of a Multitude (Abraham) buried Noblewoman (Sarah) his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Strength (Mamre): also know as Association (Hebron) in the land of Humbled One (Canaan).
20And the field, and the cave that is therein, were deeded to Father of a Multitude (Abraham) for a possession of a burying place by the sons of Terror (Heth).

The Beginning (Genesis) 22

1After these things, God ('Elohiym) tested Father of a Multitude (Abraham), and said to him, “Father of a Multitude (Abraham)”: and he said, “Here I am.”
2God ('Elohiym) said, “Take now your son, your only son Laughter (Isaac), whom you love, and go to the land of Seen By I AM-Yahh (Moriah); and offer him there for a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.
3Father of a Multitude (Abraham) rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Laughter (Isaac) his son, and split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God ('Elohiym) had told him.
4Then on the third day Father of a Multitude (Abraham) lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
5Father of a Multitude (Abraham) said unto his young men, “Stay here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.”
6Then Father of a Multitude (Abraham) took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it on Laughter (Isaac) his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.
7Laughter (Isaac) inquired of Father of a Multitude (Abraham) his father, “My father”: he said, “Here am I, my son.” And he said, “We have the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”
8Father of a Multitude (Abraham) said, “My son, God ('Elohiym) will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.”
9They came to the place which God ('Elohiym) had told him of; and Father of a Multitude (Abraham) built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Laughter (Isaac) his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10Then Father of a Multitude (Abraham) stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11But, the angel of The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) called to him out of heaven, and said, “Father of a Multitude (Abraham), Father of a Multitude (Abraham)”: and he said, “Here am I.”
12He said, Do not lay your hand on the lad, neither do any thing to him: for now I know that you fear God ('Elohiym), seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son from me.”
13Then Father of a Multitude (Abraham) lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns. And Father of a Multitude (Abraham) went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
14 So Father of a Multitude (Abraham) called the name of that place I AM Sees (Jehovahjireh -YÄ•hovah yireh): as it is called to this day, “In the mount of The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) it shall be seen.”
15And the angel of The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) called to Father of a Multitude (Abraham) out of heaven the second time,
16 He said, “ I have sworn By myself, says The LORD - I AM (Yehovah), because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son:
 17That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18In Your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice.
19So Father of a Multitude (Abraham) returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Well of the Sevenfold Oath (Beersheba); and Father of a Multitude (Abraham) dwelt at Well of the Sevenfold Oath (Beersheba).
 20And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Father of a Multitude (Abraham), saying, Behold, Queen (Milcah) has born children to your brother Snorting (Nahor);
21Wooded (Huz) his firstborn, and Contempt (Buz) his brother, and Raised of God (Kemuel) the father of Exalted (Aram),
22And Increase (Chesed), and Vision (Hazo), and Flame of Fire (Pildash), and Weeping (Jidlaph), and House of God (Bethuel).
23And House of God (Bethuel) begat Ensnarer (Rebekah): these eight Queen (Milcah) did bear to Snorting (Nahor), Father of a Multitude (Abraham)'s brother.
24And his concubine, whose name was Elevated (Reumah) bore Slaughter (Tebah), and Burning (Gaham), and Dolphin (Thahash – The outer covering of the Tabernacle was made of Thahash skins), and Oppression (Maachah).
