The Beginning (Genesis) 24

Father of a Multitude (Abraham) was old, and well stricken in age. The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) had blessed Father of a Multitude (Abraham) in all things.
Father of a Multitude (Abraham) said to his eldest servant of his house, who ruled over all that he had, “Please put your hand under my thigh:
And swear to me by The LORD - I AM (Yehovah), the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Humbled Ones (Canaanites), among whom I dwell:
But go to my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife for my son Laughter (Isaac).”
The servant said unto him, What if the woman is not be willing to follow me to this land? Should I take your son to the land from which you came?”
Father of a Multitude (Abraham) replied, “No, do not take my son back there again.
The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) God of heaven, who took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and who spoke to me, and who swore to me, saying, Unto your seed I will give this land. He will send his angel before you, and you will take a wife for my son from there.
If the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be clear from this oath to me: only do not take my son back there.”
So, the servant put his hand under the thigh of Father of a Multitude (Abraham) his master, and swore to him concerning that matter.
Then the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Land of the Two Rivers (Mesopotamia), to the city of Snorting (Nahor).
There he made his camels to kneel down outside the city by a well of water at the time of the evening when the women go out to draw water.
He prayed, “O I AM LORD God (Yehovah-Elohyim) of my master Father of a Multitude (Abraham), Please, send me good speed this day, and show kindness to my master Father of a Multitude (Abraham).
Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water:
Let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I will say, Let down your pitcher, please, that I may drink; and she will say, Drink, and I will give your camels a drink also: let the same be she that You have appointed for Your servant Laughter (Isaac). By that, I will know that You have showed kindness to my master.”
And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, Secured (Rebekah) came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Snorting (Nahor), Father of a Multitude's (Abraham's) brother, with her pitcher on her shoulder.
The damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her. She went down to the well, filled her pitcher, and came up.
The servant ran to meet her, and said, “Please let me, drink a little water from your pitcher.”
She replied, “Drink, my lord” and she hurried to let down her pitcher with her hand, and gave him drink.
When she had done giving him drink, she said, “I will draw water for your camels also, until they have done drinking.”
So she hurried, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, drawing for all his camels.”
The man, wondering at her, held his peace to see whether The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) had made his journey prosperous or not.
Then when the camels were done drinking, the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands made of ten shekels weight of gold.
He said, “Whose daughter are you? Please tell me, is there room in your father's house for us to lodge in?”
She said to him, “I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, who she bore to Snorting (Nahor).”
Moreover she said to him, “We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.”
The man bowed down his head, and worshiped The LORD - I AM (Yehovah).
He said, “Blessed be The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) God of my master Father of a Multitude (Abraham), who has not left destitute my master of His mercy and His truth: The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) led me to the house of my master's brethren.
Then the damsel ran, and told her mother's house of these things.
Secured (Rebekah) had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out to the man at the well.
When he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Secured (Rebekah) his sister, saying, “This what the man told me.” he went to the man; and found him as he stood by the camels at the well.
He said, “Come in, You are blessed of The LORD - I AM (Yehovah); why do you stand outside? I have prepared a room for you, and room for the camels.
So the man came into the house. He ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender to the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.
Then food was set before him to eat: but he said, “I will not eat, until I have told my errand.” And he answered, “Speak on.”
So he explained, “I am Father of a Multitude (Abraham)'s servant.
The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) has blessed my master greatly; and he has become great. He has given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.
Noblewoman (Sarah) my master's wife bore a son to my master when she was old: and to him has he given all that he has.
My master made me swear, saying, You shalt not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Humbled Ones (Canaanites), in whose land I dwell:
But You shall go to my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife from there for my son.
And I said to my master, What if the woman will not follow me?
But, he said to me, The LORD - I AM (Yehovah), before whom I walk, will send his angel with you, and prosper your way; and you shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house:
You be clear from this oath, if, when you come to my kindred; and if they will not give you a bride for my son, you shalt be clear from my oath.
Today, I came to the well, and said, O I AM LORD God (Yehovah-Elohyim) of my master Father of a Multitude (Abraham), if now You are giving me success in this trip,
Behold, I stand by the well of water. Let it come to pass, that when the virgin comes forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, please, a little water from your pitcher to drink;
And she says to me, Drink, and I will also draw for your camels: let the same be the woman whom The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) has appointed for my master's son.
And before I was done speaking in my heart, behold, Secured (Rebekah) came out with her pitcher on her shoulder. She went down to the well, and drew water. I said to her, Let me drink, please.
She hurried, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give your camels drink also: so I drank, and she made sure the camels drank also.
I asked her, Whose daughter are you? She said, the daughter of Bethuel, Snorting (Nahor)'s son, whom Milcah bore to him. So, I put the earring on her face, and the bracelets on her hands.
Then,I bowed down my head, and worshiped The LORD - I AM (Yehovah), and blessed The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) God of my master Father of a Multitude (Abraham), who had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter for his son.
And now if you will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.
Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceeds from The LORD - I AM (Yehovah): we cannot speak to you bad or good.
Behold, Secured (Rebekah) is before you, take her, and go, and let her be your master's son's wife, as The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) has spoken.
And it came to pass, that, when Father of a Multitude (Abraham)'s servant heard their words, he worshiped The LORD - I AM (Yehovah), bowing himself to the earth.
The servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Secured (Rebekah): he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.
They ate and drank, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, “Send me away to my master.”
But, her brother and her mother said, “Let the damsel stay with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she will go.”
He answered them, Don't hinder me, seeing The LORD - I AM (Yehovah) has prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master.”
They said, “We will call the damsel, and ask her.”
They called Secured (Rebekah), and asked her, “Will you go with this man? And she said, I will go.”
So,they sent Secured (Rebekah) their sister, and her nurse, and Father of a Multitude (Abraham)'s servant, and his men away .
They blessed Secured (Rebekah), and said to her, “You are our sister, be the mother of thousands of millions, and let your seed possess the gate of those who hate them.”
Then Secured (Rebekah) arose, and her damsels, riding on the camels they followed the man: and the servant took Secured (Rebekah), and went his way.
Laughter (Isaac) came from the way of the well the Living One Who Sees Me (Lahairoi); for he dwelt in the south country.
One evening, Laughter (Isaac) went out to meditate in the field. He looked up and saw the camels were coming.
Secured (Rebekah) also looked up, and when she saw Laughter (Isaac), she lighted off the camel.
She said to the servant, “Who is the man walking in the field to meet us?” The servant replied, “It is my master”. So, she took a veil, and covered herself.
The servant told Laughter (Isaac) all things that he had done.
Then Laughter (Isaac) took Secured (Rebekah)into his mother Noblewoman (Sarah)'s tent, and she became his wife; and he loved her. So Laughter (Isaac) was comforted after his mother's death.
