These Are the Words (Deuteronomy) 3

 1 Then we turned and went up the way to Fruitful (Bashan). Long-Necked (Og) the king of Fruitful (Bashan) came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Goodly Pasture (Edrei).

2 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to me: Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into your hand; and you shall do to him as you did to Warrior (Sihon) king of The Talkers, Sayers (Amorites), which dwelt at Stronghold (Heshbon).

3 So I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) our God ('Elohiym) delivered into our hands Long-Necked (Og) also, the king of Fruitful (Bashan), and all his people: and we smote him until no one was left of him.

4 We took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we didn’t take from them, thirty cities, all the region of Heap of Clods (Argob), the kingdom of Long-Necked (Og) in Fruitful (Bashan).

5 All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; in addition to those, unwalled towns a great many.

6 We utterly destroyed them, as we did to Warrior (Sihon) king of Stronghold (Heshbon), utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city.

7 But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.

8 At that time, we took out of the hand of the two kings of The Talkers, Sayers (Amorites) the land that was on this side of the Descender (Jordan), from the river of Rushing Stream (Arnon) to Mount Sanctuary (Hermon);

9 (Which Sanctuary (Hermon) the Hunters/Fishers call Breastplate (Sirion); and The Talkers, Sayers (Amorites) call it Snow Mountain (Shenir);)

10 All the cities of the plain, and all Rocky Region (Gilead), and all Fruitful (Bashan), to Migration (Salchah) and Goodly Pasture (Edrei), cities of the kingdom of Long-Necked (Og) in Fruitful (Bashan).

11 For only Long-Necked (Og) king of Fruitful (Bashan) remained of the remnant of giants; behold his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Great (Rabbath) of the children of Tribal (Ammon)? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.

12 This land, which we possessed at that time, from Ruins (Aroer), which is by the river Rushing Stream (Arnon), and half mount Rocky Region (Gilead), and the cities thereof, I gave to the Behold a Sons (Reubenites) and to the Troops (Gadites).

13 The rest of Rocky Region (Gilead), and all Fruitful (Bashan), being the kingdom of Long-Necked (Og), I gave to the half-tribe of Causing to Forget (Manasseh); all the region of Heap of Clods (Argob), with all of Fruitful (Bashan), which was called the land of giants.

14 He Enlightens (Jair), the son of Causing to Forget (Manasseh), took all the country of Heap of Clods (Argob) to the coasts of From the Bridge (Geshuri) and Pressure (Maachasi); and called them after his own name Villages of He Enlightens (Havothjair) to this day.

15 And I gave Rocky Region (Gilead) to Sold (Machir).

16 T the Behold a Sons (Reubenites) and to the Troops (Gad) I gave from Rocky Region (Gilead) from the river Rushing Stream (Arnon) half the valley, and the border to the river Emptying (Jabbok), which is the border of the children of Tribal (Ammon);

17 The plain also, and the Descender (Jordan), and the coast thereof, from Harps (Chinnereth) even to the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, under Springs Pouring Out of the Mountain (Ashdothpisgah) eastward.

18 I commanded you at that time, saying, I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym) has given you this land to possess it: you shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of God Prevails (Israel), all that are able for the war.

19 But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that you have much cattle,) shall stay in your cities which I have given you;

20 Until I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) has given rest to your brethren, as well as to you, and until they also possess the land which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym) has given them beyond the Descender (Jordan). Then you shall return every man to his possession, which I have given you.

21 I commanded Jehovah is Salvation (Joshua) at that time, saying: Your eyes have seen all that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym) has done to these two kings: so shall I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) do to all the kingdoms wherever you go.

22 You shall not fear them: for I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym), He shall fight for you.

23 I sought I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) at that time, saying:

24 O Lord (Adonay) I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness, and Your mighty hand: for what god ('elohiym) is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to Your works, and according to Your might?

25 Please, let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Descender (Jordan), that goodly mountain, and Whiteness (Lebanon).

26 But I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) was angry with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to me: Let it be; speak no more to me of this matter.

27 Get up into the top of Cleft (Pisgah), and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with your eyes: for you shall not go over the Descender (Jordan).

28 But charge Jehovah is Salvation (Joshua), and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see.

29 So we stayed in the valley over against House of Cleft (Bethpeor).

These Are the Words (Deuteronomy) 2

 1 Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea, as I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) spoke to me: and we circled Mount Shaggy (Seir) many days.

2 Then I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) spoke to me, saying:

3 You have gone around this mountain long enough: turn northward.

4 Command the people, saying: You are to pass through the edge of your brethren the children of Hairy (Esau), which dwell in Shaggy (Seir); and they shall be afraid of you: take good heed to yourselves, therefore:

5 Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given Mount Shaggy (Seir) to Hairy (Esau) for a possession.

6 You shall buy food from them for money, that you may eat; and you shall also buy water of them for money, that you may drink.

7 For I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God has blessed you in all the works of your hand: He knows your walking through this great wilderness: these forty years I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.

8 When we passed by from our brethren the children of Hairy (Esau), who dwelt in Shaggy (Seir), through the way of the plain from the Grove of Lofty Trees (Elath), and from Backbone of a Man (Eziongaber), we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Of His Father (Moab).

9 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to me: Distress not the Of His Fathers (Moabites), neither contend with them in battle: for I will not give you of their land for a possession; because I have given City (Ar) to the children of Covering (Lot) for a possession.

10 The Terrors (Emims) dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Long-Necks (Anakims);

11 Who also were accounted giants, as the Long-Necks (Anakims); but the Of His Fathers (Moabites) called them Terrors (Emims).

12 The Cave Dwellers (Horims) also dwelt in Shaggy (Seir) at one time; but the children of Hairy (Esau) succeeded them, when they had destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as God Prevails (Israel) did to the land of his possession, which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) gave to them.

13 Now rise up, said I, and get you over the brook Willow Brook (Zered). And we went over Willow Brook (Zered).

14 The space in which we came from Holy (Kadeshbarnea) until we came over the brook Willow Brook (Zered), was thirty-eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) swore to them.

15 For indeed the hand of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) was against them, to destroy them from among the host until they were consumed.

16 So it came to pass when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,

17 That I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) spoke to me, saying,

18 You are to pass over through City (Ar), the coast of Of His Father (Moab), this day:

19 And when you come near the children of Tribal (Ammon), distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give you of the land of the children of Tribal (Ammon) any possession; because I have given it to the children of Covering (Lot) for a possession.

20 That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time, and the Tribals (Ammoites) call them Plotters (Zamzummims);

21 A people great, and many, and tall, as the Long-Necks (Anakims); but I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead:

22 As he did to the children of Hairy (Esau), which dwelt in Shaggy (Seir), when he destroyed the Cave Dwellers (Horims) from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even to this day:

23 From the Ruins (Avims) which dwelt in Villages (Hazerim) to The Strong (Azzah), and the Crowns (Caphtorims,) which came forth out of A Crown (Caphtor), they destroyed them and dwelt in their stead.

24 Rise up, take your journey, and pass over the river Rushing Stream (Arnon): behold, I have given into your hand Warrior (Sihon) the Talkers, Sayers (Amorite), king of Stronghold (Heshbon), and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

25 This day will I begin to put the dread of you and the fear of you upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear the report of you, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of you.

26 So I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Eastern (Kedemoth) to Warrior (Sihon) king of Stronghold (Heshbon) with words of peace, saying,

27 Let me pass through your land: I will go along by the highway, I will neither turn to the right hand nor to the left.

28 You shall sell me food for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: only I will pass through on my feet;

29 As the children of Hairy (Esau) which dwell in Shaggy (Seir), and the Of His Father’s (Moabites) which dwell in City (Ar), did to me;) until I shall pass over the Descender (Jordan) into the land which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) our God ('Elohiym) gives us.

30 But Warrior (Sihon) king of Stronghold (Heshbon) would not let us pass by him: for I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym) hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that He might deliver him into your hand, as appears this day.

31 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to me: Behold, I have begun to give Warrior (Sihon) and his land before you: begin to possess, that you may inherit his land.

32 Then Warrior (Sihon) came out against us, he and all his people, to fight at Trodden Down (Jahaz).

33 And I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) our God ('Elohiym) delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.

34 And we took all his cities at that time and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:

35 Only the cattle we took for a prey to ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took.

36 From Ruins (Aroer), which is by the brink of the river of Rushing Stream (Arnon), and from the city that is by the river, even to Rocky Region (Gilead), there was not one city too strong for us: I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) our God ('Elohiym) delivered all to us:

37 Only to the land of the children of Tribal (Ammon) you did not come, nor to any place of the river Emptying (Jabbok), nor to the cities in the mountains, nor to whatsoever I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) our God ('Elohiym) forbad us.

These Are the Words (Deuteronomy) 1

 1 These are the words which Drawn (Moses) spoke to all God Prevails (Israel) on this side of The Descender (Jordan) in the wilderness, on the plain over against the Red Sea, between The Place of the Caverns (Paran), and White Lime (Tophel), and White (Laban), and Settlement (Hazeroth), and Enough Gold (Dizahab).

2 (There are eleven days' journey from Desert (Horeb) by the way of Mount Shaggy (Seir) to Holy (Kadeshbarnea).)

3 It came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Drawn (Moses) spoke to the children of God Prevails (Israel), according to all that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) had given him in commandment to them;

4 After he had slain Warrior (Sihon) the king of the The Talkers, Sayers (Amorites), which dwelt in Stronghold (Heshbon), and Long-Necked (Og) the king of Fruitful (Bashan), which dwelt at Star (Astaroth) in Goodly Pasture (Edrei):

5 On this side The Descender (Jordan), in the land of Of His Father (Moab), Drawn (Moses) began to declare this law, saying:

6 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) our God ('Elohiym) spoke to us in Desert (Horeb), saying: You have dwelt long enough on this mount:

7 Turn and take your journey, and go to the mount of the The Talkers, Sayers (Amorites), and to all the places near there, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Humbled Ones (Canaanites), and to Whiteness (Lebanon), to the great river, the river Fruitfulness (Euphrates).

8 Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) swore to your fathers, Father of a Multitude (Abraham), Laughter (Isaac), and Heel-Grabber (Jacob), to give to them and to their seed after them.

9 And I spoke to you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone:

10 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym) hats multiplied you, and, behold, you are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.

11 (I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) God ('Elohiym) of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as you are, and bless you, as He has promised you!)

12 How can I myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?

13 Take wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.

14 You answered me and said: The thing which you have spoken is good for us to do.

15 So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.

16 At that time, I charged your judges, saying: Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.

17 You shall not respect persons in judgment; but you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s ('Elohiym): and the case that is too hard for you, bring it to me, and I will hear it.

18 I commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.

19 When we departed from Desert (Horeb), we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which you saw by the way of the mountain of the The Talkers, Sayers (Amorites), as I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) our God ('Elohiym) commanded us; and we came to Holy (Kadeshbarnea).

20 There, I said to you: You have come to the mountain of the The Talkers, Sayers (Amorites), which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) our God ('Elohiym) gives to us.

21 Behold, I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) Your God has set the land before you: go up and possess it, as I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) God ('Elohiym) of your fathers has said to you; fear not, neither be discouraged.

22 You came near to me every one of you, and said: We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.

23 And the saying pleased me well: so, I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe:

24 And they turned and went up into the mountain, and came to the valley of Eshcol, and searched it out.

25 They took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down to us, and brought us word again, and said, It is a good land which I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) our God ('Elohiym) gives us.

26 Notwithstanding you would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym):

27 You murmured in your tents, and said: Because I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) hated us, He has brought us forth out of the land of Double Straights (Egypt), to deliver us into the hand of the The Talkers, Sayers (Amorites), to destroy us.

28 Why should we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying: The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; moreover, we have seen the sons of the Long-Necks (Anakims) there.

29 Then I said to you: Dread not, neither be afraid of them.

30 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym) who goes before you, He shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Double Straights (Egypt) before your eyes;

31 And in the wilderness, where you have seen how that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym) carries you, as a man bears his son, in all the way that you went, until you came into this place.

32 Yet in this thing you did not believe I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym),

33 Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way you should go, and in a cloud by day.

34 I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) heard the voice of your words, and was angry, and swore, saying:

35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I swore to give to your fathers.

36 Save Dog (Caleb) the son of He Will Face (Jephunneh); he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he has trodden upon, and to his children, because he has wholly followed I AM (the LORD, Yehovah).

37 Also I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) was angry with me for your sakes, saying: You also shall not go in either.

38 But I AM is Salvation (Joshua) the son of Posterity (Nun), who stands before you, he shall go in: encourage him: for he shall cause God Prevails (Israel) to inherit it.

39 Moreover your little ones, which you said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in, and to them will I give it, and they shall possess it.

40 But as for you, turn and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.

41 Then you answered and said to me: We have sinned against I AM (the LORD, Yehovah, we will go up and fight, according to all that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) our God ('Elohiym) commanded us. And when you had girded on every man his weapons of war, you were ready to go up into the hill.

42 But I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to me: Say to them. Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest you be smitten before your enemies.

43 So I spoke to you; and you would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), and went presumptuously up into the hill.

44 And the The Talkers, Sayers (Amorites), which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Shaggy (Seir), even to Devotion (Hormah)

45 And you returned and wept before I AM (the LORD, Yehovah); but I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) would not hearken to your voice, nor give ear to you.

46 So you abode in Holy (Kadesh) many days, according to the days that you abode there.
