Exodus 34

Exodus 34

And I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), “Cut two tablets of stone like the first: and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

Be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Thorny (Sinai). Present yourself there to Me in the top of the mountain.

Let no man come up with you, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mountain; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mountain.”

And he cut two tablets of stone like to the first; and Drawn (Moses) rose up early in the morning, and went up to mount Thorny (Sinai), as I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tablets of stone.

I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah).

And I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) passed by before him, and proclaimed, I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) God ('El), merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, to the third and to the fourth generation.”

Then Drawn (Moses) quickly bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.

And he said, “If now I have found grace in Your sight, O Lord ('Adonay), let my Lord ('Adonay), I pray You, go among us; for we are a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for Your inheritance.”

He replied, “Behold, I make a covenant: before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which you are shall see the work of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah): for it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.

Observe that which I command you this day: behold, I drive out before you the Humbled Ones (Canaanite), the Talkers, Sayers (Amorite), and the Terrors (Hittite), and the Village Dwellers (Perizzite), the Villagers (Gibeonites were Hivites), and the Trodden Underfoot (Jebusite – original inhabitants of Jerusalem).

Take heed to yourself, not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you go, lest it be for a snare in the midst of you:

But you shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:

For you shall worship no other god (‘el): for I AM (the LORD, Yehovah), whose name is Jealous, a jealous God (‘El):

Lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods ('elohiym), and do sacrifice unto their gods ('elohiym), and one call you, and you eat of his sacrifice;

And you take of their daughters to thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods ('elohiym), and make your sons go a whoring after their gods ('elohiym).

You shall make yourself no molten gods ('elohiym).

The feast of unleavened bread you shall keep. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, in the time of the month Green Ears (Abib): for in the month Green Ears (Abib) you came out from Double Straights (Egypt).

All that opens the womb is Mine; and every firstling among your cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male.

But the firstling of an ass you shall redeem with a lamb: and if you redeem him not, then you shall break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons you shall redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.

Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest: in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.

And you shall observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.

Thrice in the year shall all your males appear before the Lord (‘Adown) God I AM (Yehovah), the God ('Elohiym) of God Prevails (Israel).

For I will cast out the nations before you and enlarge your borders: neither shall any man desire your land when you shall go up to appear before I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym) three times a year.

You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the Passover be left to the morning.

The first of the firstfruits of your land you shall bring to the house of I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) your God ('Elohiym). You shall not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.”

Then I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) said to Drawn (Moses), “Write these words: for according to the commandment of these words I have made a covenant with you and with God Prevails (Israel).”

And he was there with I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

And it came to pass when Drawn (Moses) came down from mount Thorny (Sinai) with the two tables of testimony in Drawn (Moses)'s hand, when he came down from the mount, that Drawn (Moses) did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him.

And when Light Bringer (Aaron) and all the children of God Prevails (Israel) saw Drawn (Moses), behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come near him.

And Drawn (Moses) called to them; and Light Bringer (Aaron) and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him: and Drawn (Moses) talked with them.

And afterward all the children of God Prevails (Israel) came near: and he gave them in commandment all that I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) had spoken with him in Mount Thorny (Sinai).

And till Drawn (Moses) had done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.

But when Drawn (Moses) went in before I AM (the LORD, Yehovah) to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out. And he came out and spoke to the children of God Prevails (Israel) that which he was commanded.

And the children of God Prevails (Israel) saw the face of Drawn (Moses), that the skin of Drawn (Moses)' face shone: and Drawn (Moses) put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with Him.
