Battering Ram (Mark) 12

  

1 He began to speak to them by parables. “A certain man planted a vineyard, set a hedge about it, dug a place for the wine cellar, built a tower, rented it out to farmers, and went to a far country.

2 At harvest, he sent a servant to collect his portion of the harvest from the farmers of the vineyard's fruit.

3 But they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.

4 Again, he sent another servant to them. They cast stones at him, wounding him in the head, and then sent him away, shamefully handled.

5 Again, he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

6 Finally, he sent his only son, whom he loved dearly, saying, “They will respect my son.”

7 But those farmers conspired among themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’

8 Then they killed him and cast him out of the vineyard.

9 What will therefore the lord of the vineyard do? He will come to destroy those farmers and will give the vineyard to others.

10 Have you not read this scripture? ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone:

11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.’”

12 So they sought to lay hold of Him, but feared the people because they knew He had spoken the parable against them. Then they left Him and went their way.

13 Then they sent to Him certain of  The Separate (Pharisees) and of the Herocians (Herodians), to catch Him in His words.

14 When they got there, they said to Him, “Master, we know that You are true, and don’t care what men think: for You do not regard the person of men, but teach the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

15 Should we pay, or not?” But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you tempt Me? Bring me a penny, so I can look at it.”

16 So they brought it. And He said to them, “Whose is this image and superscription?” They answered, “Caesar's.”

17 I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) answered them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” And they marveled at Him.

18 Then the Sadducees came to Him, who say there is no resurrection, and they asked him,

19 “Master, Drawn (Moses) wrote to us, ‘If a man's brother dies, and leaves his wife behind him, and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up children for his brother.’

20 Now there were seven brothers: the first took a wife, and dying left no children.

21 The second took her and died without any children, and the third likewise.

22 All seven had her and left no children: last of all, the woman died also.

23 In the resurrection, therefore, when they rise, whose wife will she be of them? For the seven had her as wife.”

24 I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) answered them, “You are mistaken, because you do not know the scriptures, nor the power of God.

25 Because when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage; but are like the angels who are in heaven.

26 And as for the dead rising: have you not read in the book of Drawn (Moses), how in the bush God spoke to him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: you, therefore, are badly mistaken.”

28 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the greatest commandment of all?

29 I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) answered him, “The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30 And you will love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment.

31 The second is similar: “You will love your neighbor as yourself. There are no other commandments greater than these.”

32 And the scribe said to Him, “Well, Master, You have said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but He:

33 And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

34 When I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) heard that He whispered to him discreetly, “You are not far from the Kingdom of God.” After that, no man dared to ask Him any questions.

35 Then I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) asked as He taught in the temple, “Why do the scribes say that Christ is the Son of Beloved (David)?”

36 For Beloved (David) himself said by the Holy Spirit, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.’

37 Therefore, Beloved (David), himself calls Him Lord; so how then is He his son?” And the common people heard him gladly.

38 After that He taught them in his doctrine, “Beware of the scribes, who love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,

39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:

40 Who devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers: these will receive greater damnation.”

41 Then I AM is Our Salvation (Yeshua) sat down near the treasury and watched how the people cast money into the treasury, and many who were rich cast in much.

42 And a certain poor widow came, and she threw in two mites, which made a farthing.

43 He called His disciples to Him, and said to them, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow has cast more in than all they which have cast into the treasury:

44 For all they cast in of their abundance; but she, of her want, cast in all that she had, even all her living.”
